It was once stated that there wasn't any turn-over at home office for 5 or 6 years. NOW, they can't keep anyone there. Either people are leaving on their own accord, or they are simply FIRED. I couldn't aggree more. Everyone knows that the executive level of management is aware of this board. All the managers told their reps after their conference call last Friday.

So instead of constantly checking this board like a coward CW should get the courage to "make a positive out of a negative."

It couldn't have been fun to log in to this board and read some of the hard-hearted and disparaging comments people have been making about you, especially knowing that all of the company is reading it. However, she should realize that because of her acrimonious attitude no one is willing to speak frankly & freely in this company without the justified fear of reciprocity.

Therefore my point:

Take this for what it is: an anonymous board where employees can truly speak their minds without being identified. CW should identify herself and begin asking the reps for an open dialog about how to improve the situation.

Instead she has chosen to eschew honest communication/dialog in favor of scripted conference calls where she abruptly ends the call before Barry and BS can hear what the reps have to say and what their concerns are!

I believe that is she started asking questions in this “safe” forum that people would begin to provide her direct and honest answers. And this board would begin to be a place where employees from our company could turn to get answers and openly communicate with each other.

To me this is what a true leader would do. But then again I guess that is what we are all questioning, where is the leadership at Taro?

To respond to a previous poster who commented on it being in bad taste to ridicule your own company, I have to disagree. In most situations I wouldn't be sitting here late on a Saturday afternoon typing this response in, but I care enough about my company and my job to want to make this situation better. We're doing what we were hired to do - get doctors to prescribe our drugs. That's the bottom line. We're making the calls, we're changing prescribing habits (we have to take the doctors' word for it, after all, we don't have any data). How is the sales force not stepping up to the plate? Give us the data, quotas, etc and we'll do an even better job. With the right tools the reps and the home office will win. Right now I feel like I've been given a dose of prison love and it's BS.

The National Sales Meeting was a JOKE. It was horrible! There was nothing positive about it. Morale was low, the food was bad, the awards banquet was torture, plus on top of that, half of the sales force got flea bites from the meeting room (they must have come from the dogs in HO). Nothing NEW was learned. What the company should have done was given the reps the money that it cost each of us to go there. Then, my morale would have increased, I would have more than a stale muffin and hard butter for breakfast, and I could have gone out an bought my own Mont Blanc pen. Can't anyone at HO figure out, that all we want are numbers, goals, and to be told the TRUTH! So, I wonder what the next POA is going to be like...

Hey, I agree that Rome wasn't built in a day. However, there was some thought put into it. The situation here is that Barrie is not commited to this branded division. I don't care if he says he is until he is blue in the face. His actions prove otherwise. The sales force found out that he refused to pay for necessary data without ever having the "sack" to tell us to our faces and give us an explanation. He hasn't treated any of us with respect. Why would we respect him? As far as I can tell the guy has a "god" complex and needs to be knocked down a few rungs. He has an enormous ego. But if he is so great why are the best HO people dropping like flies. I.e. Bob Mauro?

OK so you don't have a problem with Taro, just the way your division is used, correct? It still is a great company. Just look at the stock and earning over the past 5-6 years. After meeting Bob at the national meeting, I felt like he really understood our division, and acknolowedged what was important, ie. new products, support, etc.
He seemed to have the best take on Taro USA in the industry and where they were headed. He conveyed that message to us as TaroPharma very clearly and enthuasiatic. I was very impressed with him. He came across as a natural leader.
I came to this venture to earn more money and advance my career. However I was misled, and I have made less $$$ last year than the year before. My accountant was befuddled. I am sure you would be equally dismayed. Picture yourself in our shoes.

Whoever made the post about the people selling the product is right on the money (or lack there of in our case). Relationships are the key to this business. I think that it is pretty safe to say that the "branded" division is a "bought" division for Taro. We have nothing in our pipeline that pertains to either the derm side or the peds. What we are doing is "buying" (so we are led to believe) exisiting products, which gets back to my original point, the relationships we have made with our offices will change their writing habits. In our bags, at this moment, we have an over exagerrated hydrocortisone cream. Just because of the urea base, it is Rx. If we can sell this to derms or peds, we are doing pretty good. The product is not a homerun product. And, it takes some finesse to get a Dr to write for this product as opposed to just suggesting a very inexpensive OTC.

Rome was not built in a day. It took strategy, thought, determination, and focus to build, and to compare Taro to that analogy is only hiding the fact that this division was not and is not a well though out process. HO is forcing the Reps in the field to suffer from mistakes, miscommunications and lack of focus on a daily basis.

I was speaking with a Rep today and he was intrigued with the "specialty" aspect of my job, then I shared with him, that fact that we have no goals, no quotas and no payout as of yet. This made his mouth drop and disbielf come over his face. I am numb to that fact. Taro has no idea what excellent sales reps they have. The lure of a strong product pipeline, uncapped incentive program, and "help from home office, for anything you need, because we care about you and we are "small pharma"" is no longer intriging. Why...because it is not true. Those are amoung the many reasons I left where I was to come here. Mistake! Hindsight is always 20/20. I will say this and I feel it is a truth, I have NEVER been involved with a company that is so unorganized, threating, clueless, and unmotivating and demoralizing. And before you even respond with "if you are so unhappy, leave" comment, I am already in that process. It will be liberating to leave this hell hole behind!

I can say from first hand experience that Taro has not will not support the branded group with any of the most basic sales or marketing tools. They do not listen to any of the professional advise they pay for ( I continue to be in meetings where this happens) but rely on Jake and Tal to lead the company from a position of relatively little or no experience.
