As a PDI select access rep, do you ONLY get paid when you get a doc's signature?? What about all the time/money spent trying to get into offices where the doc doesn't have time to sign??

surger here, have they done away with code 30 for when the doctor refuses to sign? What's going on with the signature requirements? I know we never got paid without a signature or code 30, did something change since I have been gone?

That's what we are saying. It's just too bad, so sad for the rep. NO PAY. You can occasionally check the box "refused to sign", BUT they are very strict and only allow a couple a month like that. So that's right, if he's dead, moved, busy, day off, or whatever, NO PAY for no see.

Well no wonder everyone is quitting. If the numbers are high now, wait till the surge reps come back and hear this jolly good news. 2 weeks out of the driveway, most of us will quit before we work for nothing. And then they want you to go back to the living doc's and bug them over and over? I can see I won't be staying very long.

You will get paid for code 30 as long as you dont abuse it. Do your research at home and make sure the doc is in. If you go and get a no sighn thats a 30. I have never had a problem. It happens.

Is it that people are just driving to addresses and not checking them out first or making a phone call? I can't see doing that with gas over $3 a gallon. The phone call would be cheaper.

It sure sounds like that is what they are doing, how do you think they got their names? Wit, Half, and Dim.

Are some of you actually thinking that the ONLY WAY not to get a signature is because you don't call first?!? You people must have a lot better territories than I do. Sometimes I drive up and a sign has just been put up - NO MORE REPS TODAY. Sometimes doctors have emergencies and go to the hospitals. And sometimes they are too busy to see me! What la la land are the rest of you living in?????

Everyone knows what you stated is the truth. Its just the whacked out nut case posting to herself again.

Absolutely not, just referencing yours/their posts that state you arrived at the office to find the docs had retired or died.

1. price of gas to drive to find these dead/retired docs
2. bad doctor list
It's so much more fun to post this way, making a simple phone call is no fun for these "types". Their minds don't work this way, they aren't team players.

Posting from denial again I see. Ignoring the fact that docs have emergencys, decide to take a personal day, are in a meeting, on vacation or have the option of arbitrarily deciding no more reps today for any reason they wish. Duh.

I'm saying don't drive 80-100 mile roundtrip to see 2 or 3 docs without calling first, duh! Your excuses show just that, excuses. You aren't what a company is looking for- that being a self starter that can manage their territory, under most conditions. Select Acess allows for "refused" and shared practice signatures, combine these features with the above calling ahead eliminates many "excuses". It's clear you will continual look for reasons to complain, instead of forging ahead to brighter days.

I didn't mean to start a fight over a simple question about calling first. I was referring to the dead or moved out of area doctors. Don't you call first to get appointment information, rep days, best time to call on the office or check the internet for licensing information. I also check the address on mapquest for directions and can get an idea if it is residential or commercial. I am not criticizing, I was only asking and trying to offer some quick ways to avoid a drive and no signature equalling no pay. I know that doctors have emergencies, vacation etc. so don't get me wrong, I have been there and done that. I just can't see driving blind to an address only to find it's a residence or that a doctor died two years ago or moved 5 years ago. A simple phone call would be appropriate if it's a first time call. Sorry to offend some of you but it wasn't meant that way.

The only time I will look for a doc by driving around (only if he is thought not to be to far and in an area I will be in anyway) is if I have exhausted other resources. Then again the other frequent option post #12 missed is of course the option to refuse based on the fact that another tissue and pen are not needed. That in itself exceeds by far the limited number of refused allowed.

Wow. When I talked to PDI a few months back, they told me they had something coming available soon which would be salary based....is this the Novartis contract? If they require signatures to pay every call, forget it. That's not real world. I guess that's how they operate, which probably keeps operating expenses down. I already have a tough time in my territory getting signatures, and I'm salaried, with no code 30. I would think this requirement would make this job very hard for some...

It does. They don't care.
