You my friend are correct. I know many in my region who are pissed off beyond belief. I am talking about hard working people. Good reps who put the time in, did what was asked and beyond and will recieve a virtually nada. We launched Levemir with no hard data. I was dumbfounded that all we had was data vs NPH. Who cares? Levemir had "me too" written all over it. Territories with Interface speakers did well, those without did not. Interface speakers are the top writers of Levemir. Fact. Interface speakers or thought leaders should be available for all territories. Those territories with Interface speakers are able to have lunch programs and greater access to the customers. Face it, docs are tired of dinner programs. There is one every night of the week. It's like pulling teeth to get them there. Lunch is quick, they eat, they talk, they learn. The speaker is back to his/her office in time to see patients for the afternoon. Peer to peer discussions and maybe they try Levemir. We might be able to turn this launch around with data showing Levemir is superior to Lantus, but until then, we will continue to limp along.

I thought ALL territories had at least 1 speaker and many metro areas have access to many. Dinner programs are hard but getting people out for Levemir was way easier than NLMIX 70/30. Make sure you put that suggestion in for the RAP committee to increase the # of speakers.

We could be like Novartis and make EVERYONE a speaker...

Wah, Wha! Quit your crying. The truth is that every single territory had the opportunity to sign up a KOL to speak. Either the reps didn't take the time to recruit a speaker or didn't have enough of a relationship with a KOL to get him/her to speak on our behalf. Moreover, each territory had equal amounts of programs to use. Some used correctly, others did not. DBM's had the ability to purchase others if budget permitted. If your district/territory spent your money on green balloons and cookies to do a cheesy Levemir "Blitz", you missed out on that option. Finally, Interface SUCKS! Generally, no one of significance attends, except for a few instances. So come up with a different excuse on why YOU can't sell. What did the managed care challenges excuse get shut down?

Spoken like a true cool-aid drinking manager. This company doesn't listen to rep suggestions. If they did, we wouldn't have big pharma VP's and RBD's in place (SW and TXOk). The lack of vision, leadership, and trust in reps to perform is outrageous at this company. How can a leader always be one step behind in everything??????????

How dare you suggest that the reps are accountable for their own inaction. What do you think they are, responsible professionals?

Thank you! My thoughts exactly.

Trust in reps to perform???? Like you are at 1:24pm on a friday. Maybe if you were out doing calls you would be the VP or RBD instead of whoever you are worried about. LOSER.

I've got over 25 prescribers for Levemir, and one of them is an Interface speaker. He isn't even writing Levemir. So I guess the theory of "Interface speakers are the only ones writing" is incorrect.

I can't believe you wrote that. All that tells us is you can't close your own interface speaker. Now that's pathetic!!!!!

Fact is you can't close anyone hardly anymore with a me-too. Primary Care is sick to death of the spin. And I've heard countless times from management at this company how we'll need to spin to win. JOKE!

I just stopped laughing my ass off. I must comment. Someone actually posted they have an Interface speaker who has not even written the product? Who selected this clown? Interface speakers should have some experience with the product. They are up in front of a group of docs to present our data and discuss real world experience. I actually thought I had heard just about everything in this business. I don't even know what to say to that rep. It boggles the mind. A NNI Interface speaker, that doesn't even stand behind the product he is promoting. What a tool! The doctor should be let go of his contract.

Last year's DBM selected the speaker. Some DBM's, like some reps, just walk around all day with their head up their ass. When that is the case, some territories get screwed. Especially in cases where the DBM was planning on losing that particular geography anyway. No thought, no care, no action. Have fun with no speaker! Welcome to Novo.
