Ok I have read all the doomsday reports, both on this board and in the media. Yet the company is hiring outside of the Pharma rep area, in fact this recruiter says they will not take anyone from pharmaceuticals. My recruiter called with a high base salery, guarenteed bonus, and stock options at signing. Is this a last ditch effort to retain their business or do they know something the competition does not? Any information you in the know have would be great.
Thanks

Do NOT buy into what they are telling you. The company is being hit hard by the lack of sales. REALLY POOR SALES NATIONWIDE. There is no out. If they do not fill the position, they are afraid it will send the wrong message to the reps and people will leave in a panic.
so a short term expense of hiring is still better than having many people leave and the business goes down quicker than it already is.
They are looking to get through the 3 rd quarter and then lay off. There is no 2007. My advice - look elsewhere.

if you are looking to break in to the pharma industry and are willing to be potentially unemployed in 12 months, then i would say go for it.

the manager that covers louisiana has only been a manager for the past 4 or 5 months, but generally is an alright guy and should not fuck with you.

at least 5 years pharma experience is needed. Unless you want to try this, be prepared you will be out of a job in a few months.
might be good experience and then you could take it elsewhere
