I never asked but I would be interested to know.
After a few initial problems (early last year) Mediwatch, the USA division appear to be doing well.
This is probably the wrong place but any feedback on Mediwatch whether positive or negative regarding their products/customer relations would be much appreciated, cheers in advance.

I can't answer your question, but I know from experience that Medtronic reps are very cocky and think to much of them selves to help anyone or answer anyone's questions. They think the are the biggest and the best. They are not. I know I worked for them two years ago. I chose to move on and have found life is better and more profitable in other device companies.

Urodynamics market is flat at best. More reimbursement amendments coming for 2013. Laborie has about 50% of the market. The remaining market is divided up between LifeTech, MMS (recently took the OEM portion of ACMI Circon/Gyrus), Cooper, and several other mom and pop shops including mobile urodynamics. Credibility of urodynamics is being scrutinized by the industry as being overkill when compared to taking an accurate patient history (stress incontinence, detrusor instability, bladder outlet obstruction, etc;).
The improving accuracy of bladder ultrasound( imaging of bladder wall thickness) will at some point be the gold standard for diagnosing the above listed urinary conditions.

Mediwatch has great products, the spinning disc technology for the Uro-flow study is the Gold Standard. The Urodynamics systems are top notch, but a bit more expensive than competition.
Regarding the previous post, Bladder Ultrasound especially bladder wall thickness will NEVER replace Urodynamics. Urodynamics tests for not only capacity, and compliance but also supplies info regarding stress, urge and mixed incontinence, leakpoint pressure (both abdominal and vesicle). The pressures and sensations are extremely important in diagnosis along with Uretheral Pressure profiles in determing functional length (high pressure zone). Typically Urodynamics is a precurser to other therapies. Mediwatch has the best EMG on the market providing info regarding (very important in Urodynamics)

mediwatch have taken the old medtronic products to a new level. Accuracy, ease of use, user interface etc. Well worth the extra $.
