I'm currently in pharma, have been for 4 years and want to get into women's health. Any advice or wisdom about Organon? I noticed two postings on monster for positions where I live however going through a company website is like taking a shot at a moving target and I have no aim... If you want to make a recruiting bonus (if Organon does this) please help me help you.
I know how bruttle these boards can be so please be kind.
Thanks!

Seriously walk away!!!!

The exec. Management lies to reps. Ask the 160+ reps that were told they would have a job.

Women's health is tough when you sell birth control. You will sometimes wait 4 months before a patient gets a script filled and then another 3 months to see the result on your #'s.

Don't let anyone scare you off. There are so many variables to consider like the product you are selling, your geography, your targets and your manager. NuvaRing is a great product and Implanon is very promising. If you actually get an interview and they end up offering you a job, you aren't obliged to take it. If nothing else, you get some valuable interviewing experience.

Don't let any of these nay-sayers disillision you. I have seen good reps selling blockbusters like Vioxx get waylaid by layoffs and other reps muddle along at little companies selling niche third tier drugs have great careers. If nothing else, you use this as an entry point into the industry, but don't be fooled that this shit doesn't happen everywhere, including Pfizer, GSK, AZ, etc. Your chance for advancement at a smaller company like Organon is much better and your industry experience will apply elsewhere.

Have your head up going into the interview and understand what the company wants out of you. Be sure you know what the travel requirements maybe, ie how many overnights per month if you have a large geography.
WHC is presently broken up into Blue and Gold teams. The Blue team reps call on the higher decile drs and each team may have a few specialists just for Implanon. The Gold team calls on lower decile drs and has been set up to ramp up another drug in a co-promote or an acquisition. These territories are likely larger and more challenging.

That being said, it all comes down to your manager. If you are not already in this industry, you manager can make or break this job.

You can either tell us what geography you are looking at and I guarantee that you will get some feedback on the managers in that area. Or you can take the interview and ask for help along the way here.

Best of luck...

i met an organon rep earlier this week. she was selling nuvaring and some newer drug that i can't remember. very nice and good looking. i would have totally let her blow me. if you are a hot chick who likes to give hummers, i would say you really should work for this company.

Since I can tell by the way that you write and spell that you are an idiot--you will do very well at Organon. I am sure you will be promoted to President within a year!
