Could some kind person shed the light on what this place is really like? Things like Culture, pay, bennies, management style, future prospects, training and anything else you can think of. I will be out of a Job the 1st of the year, just trying to get a read on what is out there. Thanks in advance.

If CafePharma is what you consider research then maybe you should go back to McDonalds.

If I could find a rep that worked for you I would ask. If a doctor knew what I was talking about when I asked them about your drug or organization it would be a good start. Since neither worked I threw a post up on here. God forbid I come on here to get the opinion of someone that might actually works here. Do you expect me to trust a recruiter? What other ways than Internet research would you suggest you fucking prick? If the majority of people they have are like you your company is going to go to shit real quick.

p.s. Let me know when you get a female to let you shoot a couple of live rounds off in her. Your obviously an up tight little prick.

It is no wonder that sales suck when you look at the mentality of those hired (as represented on this board).

You both are stupid fucks...How do you suggest someone learn more about a company and culture? This shit is not press releases available to the public. So how the op is a lazy fuck is beyond me. How many reps do you have in the field? How many doctors know of you as a company? So what is wrong coming here asking what it is like working for Santarus? Is that secret information that could be used for sales against your less than 1% share? Didn't thinks so dip shits...So what brilliant suggestions do have to learn other places to work. Show us all how brilliant you guys are.

The only thing more frightening than someone reasearching a company on CP is someone who would make a decision about employment based upon information from CP. The main reason? Because retards like yourself who don't even work here are the ones that answer the questions. Just like you did. Moron.

I was one of the first round of hires when this company was formed. I was given 5000 stock options and negotiated a base pay of $84,500. They wanted to start me out at $72,000 but I had over 5 years of selling PPI's and held tight to my target base pay. It took a while but they finally gave me an offer close to what I was looking for.

Benefits are not as good as big pharma co's and our budgets are very limited. If you are used to staying at a nice hotel while on the road and that is important to you then you should not work here. My DM is always on me about lodging expenses and the like. It is very different than when I was at big pharma in that regard.

There are pros and cons. The biggest con is that not a lot of physicians are very interested in talking about PPI's anymore. There is a generic out and OTC. Some physicians like our immediate release theory but most don't buy into it. Of the 10% of physicians that will even talk about a PPI anymore only about 15 to 20% of them will listen to the immediate release science. Of those few only a handful will buy into it. If you can get a physician to write it and actually track his/her patient, about half will say they see a slight benefit. The others claim there is no difference and some say the patient didn't like it and wanted to go back on thier prior PPI. I tell my physicians to give any new patient or patient switches a full month of samples and track them. Samples are HUGE in this market.

I have heard that reps hired recently are not given anywhere near the base salaries that we original reps were given when the company was formed.

I hope that information helps you.

Good luck in your job search!

What kind of cars do you guys drive. I've heard that you don't get cars and instead get a monthly car allowance. Any help you could give to me would be great.

Thanks

Finally, an honest post. This product is not an easy sell and this poster broke it down very well. Despite what was put into the detail by the poster, notice the idiot who then goes on why his/her primary concern as to the type of company car. I would suggest finding a company with a more viable product as the future is uncertain here.

Such a harsh reply. I thinnk the poster was right on with his post you are replying to. Maybe you are just embarassed that you work for such a shitty company. I know I am. But I'm doing something to get off of this sinking ship.

Translation: I was stupid enough to take a job at this turd of a company and now have to cover up my retarded move by lashing out at those smart enough to see what this company is really about.

Hey, don't bash the kool aid drinker too badly. I was one of the first wave of hires here. They did a very good selling job. I was told of uncapped bonus and how fast the product works. One of the managers told me a story about how I could tell a doctor to give a Zegerid sample to a symptomatic patient and that the patient would feel healed before he left the physicians office. Add to that the fact that they gave me a 21% increase in my base pay and I was sold.

We've finally started to make some bonus money and our base pays are probably the highest in the industry. I'll agree that the product is not what we were told or are still being told it is. Just smile, get your signatures and bank your base pay while you look for another job. We have enough funding to last at least another year.

SO....stop hating and be happy.

God - this is sooooo true. The above post made me think back to that all day job interview when they passed us around to interview with 4 different managers. I heard every one of the stories referenced in the above post. What it came down to for me was not culture, business model or how supposedly great the product was. It was purely a financial decision for me. They offered me more in base pay than I was making in base and bonus at my last job. I'm happy I came here! One product to pitch and a laid back manager. It's been the best 3 years for me since I started slinging pharmaceuticals!

Hey Twitch guy, choose your fantasy and stick with it. Either you work here and are happy or you got passed over for a job 2 years ago and are happy. If you play both sides in back to back posts at five past one in the morning it makes it kind of obvious.

Hey Kool Aid Guy! Are you that DELUSIONAL that you think everyone posting is Twitch.

You are WRONG once again.

Seek help - or - you may want to let your affliction keep hold of you. That way you can still be happy and proud of the foolish choice you have made to join a company with no future.

I on the other hand work for a company with 5 block buster products and a very bright future!

See ya. Wouldn't want to be ya.

Now make some more classy posts about my wife or family. You are so Fonzie!!
