View Full Version : The Loss of Great Leaders

Anonymous

Let this thread be dedicated to Great Leaders we have lost today. I propose Art Harmon. Art was an outstanding DBM, a man who knows the business, loves his Company, and respects and takes care of his Reps. Dedicated to making each of his people stronger, and always looks for the best in each. He was always upbeat and exceptionally innovative. I know he will move on to bigger and bettter things, but he will be sorely missed by his Representatives and all who knew him in BMS. May the good he has done come back to him in the very near future.

Yes, Art Harmon was a good DBM with BMS. He started his career with a company that was eventually swallowed by Sanofi. He was a good worker who knew how to get the business. He will be missed.

To my most respected former manager and company friend KMP- FLorida whom I have had the distinct pleasure of being under as a rep for a period of time. I hope you go sell Diovan and kick the S#!$ out of Avapro!! You are a class act all the way. So very fair and very well respected by your reps- even won the Leadership Award at the POA along with Evan who was also severed today! I can't believe it!!! I am truly saddened by this new! As a tribute to you tommorow I am wearing all BLACK!!!!!!!!! This will be my own private mourning! Hope you land on your feet- I am sure you will! Toast to all your greatness at BMS! They are the ones who lost a great employee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Art was a dream of a DM to report to. He didn't believe in the paperwork nonsense. He wanted to give his reps time to sell. A HUGE LOSS for the company. He will land on his feet somewhere. Here's to you Art Harmon http://www.cafepharma.com/ubbthreads/images//graemlins/wink.gif

Here's to Evan Schissler, a fine DBM and even better human being! Evan was fair, always looked for the best in his reps, and had not been in management so long that he forgot what it was like in the field. He had a way of weeding thru the BS to get to what was important to move the business. He was and is a great communicator and I wish ONLY THE BEST for him and his family.

Well written. My heart breaks that ES was severed. Didn't have an opportunity to work with KMP but have heard wonderful things. Ironic how BMS displaces the ONLY managers to win an award at the POA. Just proves that this company would rather be run militant style than with outstanding managers like ES and KMP. Watch out BMS you stupid MFs--these are two people you DON'T want competing against you. I hope they send Avapro and Pravachol to hell with competition! To ES and KMP, we LOVE you. You two will land on your feet and laugh while looking down as BMS crumbles.

Let's not forget about Cathy Johnson in Orlando!!! Cathy was/is a dream manager. It doesn;t make sense that they let her go. When she came to Orlando she took over a beaten district and rebuilt the shabby remains from Kim H. She turned the dirt around by motivating her team and always found the good in all! She worked hard not just for herself but for each rep as an individual. Raise your glass to Cathy. Her new employer will be lucky to have her! Let's all wish her well!!!
Is this the thanks she gets for having the highest Plavix numbers in the U.S.?

The three DBM's cut in Florida were the only ones who truely cared about their people and stood up for the reps. It is a travesty that this company continues to nurture an environment that is so hostile and oppressive by eliminating the only managers that allowed the reps to be adults and were treated as such. This is a sad day for this company. The people that worked for these DBMs respected them and worked hard, FOR THE MANAGER , not the company. This will certainly change the moral in those parts of this region.

Here's to Trey Watts, the finest DBM I've ever worked for. He is kind, considerate, encouraging, extremely knowledgeable, and inspires his reps to be the very best. His contacts throughout the company allowed him to get things done that bewildered others.

Trey will land a great job with another company. He will go on to make great things happen for someone else. I like all the managers in Alabama, but to see Trey gone is very hard to take. http://www.cafepharma.com/ubbthreads/images//graemlins/frown.gif

Mark Glover, even though I never reported to you, you will be missed. This company is sooooo messed up. I remember Mark from POA meetings and always so friendly and positive. I think he has been with BMS for almost 20 years, if not more. This is a HUGE loss to the company. I left BMS several months ago, it IS greener on the OTHER side! I know the wounds are fresh, but it will get better!

Why Art? Dearest Art, on behalf of all the reps who have reported to you, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for being a WONDERFUL DM. You have gotten stiffed in many ways. You should have become a specialty DM - EASY.
Just say goodbye to BMS and take your talent elsewhere - good riddance!!!!! You treated us not only as employees but as friends to. You are in our thoughts over these agonizing days.....

Yes,
Art is a great leader and a winner. How could HE be axed? They obviously didn't use sales performance as a criteria he was ranked #3 IN THE NATION this year, and had a great year last year. Maybe tenure was the issue- he had 16 years . Maybe he helped develop too many people- something like ten reps in two years who worked for him were promoted under his leadership. His only problem was that he believed in BMS so much that he got the rest of us doing it too!

Art is a wonderful DM who has touched many lives within BMS. He is a true kool-aid drinker, however, very realistic.
He did what he could to keep people at BMS, but when he saw the writing on the wall earlier this year, he made sure he told reps that they needed to do what they had to do to protect themselves. Awesome Advice that I have ever received. I ran for the hills, and it's been great ever since http://www.cafepharma.com/ubbthreads/images//graemlins/laugh.gif

He did everything he could to promote his reps. He was not perfect mind you, but should be in the Top 10 great DM's of all time. Huge loss for the company. WE all know he will land on his feet somewhere, and be a tremendous asset wherever he goes.....
Best Wishes Art, and Good Luck to all of you!

Art will kick thier ass if someone else picks him up. Also heard of several other great leaders let go- Mark Glover a class act all the way. hard worker. Tim Harget- just won Pinnacle. Dave Jacocks-sharp as a tack. Lou Montefiorri, the list goes on. One thing in common -they were some of the best the company had or will have. You can thank our great "Leadership Team" for this one. Can't wait till tomorrow. they'll probably keep the bozo reps we know are not working, and fire all of the hard working salespeople who have built this company!

A lot of the leaders lost were TBMs also. They were veteran, high performing reps who inspired and mentored many of us who are still here. My head is still reeling over the loss of these people. When I joined BMS two years ago, there was a rep who was a huge help to me and had been here a long time and won a ton of Pinnacles. She's gone. I've won no Pinnacles, have been here two years. I'm still here but have lost a great leader.

All the way to the SEC and beyond. What a great job of documenting kickbacks. ADVANCE books an attorney’s dream come true.

Mile wide and inch deep Milt!!

He’s doing some consulting now so out there is some sap company paying for bad advice, see anything can be sold.

Just what BMS needs some more martinis and a PRAVAGARD PAC relaunch, that should fix the company up.
