I know you're out there... women over 30 who aren't into plastic surgery, etc. So are there any fountains of youth for skin beside having a great sex life??

Serious Skin Care makes a glycolic cleanser that is great and A-Force Serum. Miracle products.

Oh and exercise (cardiovascular and weight train), do not smoke, meet with a registered dietician at least once to find out what is really the right thing to eat. Instead of reading another "me too" book by some dumb ass that never took a nutrition course in their life.

Also try being happy and get sleep.

Oh you silly boy! Of course there are fountains of youth! I just came home with my Marth Stewart Anti-Gravity Bra that I bought on a Blue Light Special at K-Mart. Works wonders (no pun intended) and will give my grandchildren a place to hang their coats and hats this winter...

Been hearing some good things about Avon's new line of regenerative products. Haven't tried them yet, but I will.

A little semen on the face to glue the eye shut does wonders for the bags under the eyes! http://www.cafepharma.com/ubbthreads/images//graemlins/blush.gif

A beta salicylic acid peel every other month with Cosmoderm injections works good.

Get some highlights and a good gym membership along with that and your set.

I've become obsessed with this topic lately. I ask older women who have good skin. Exfoliating regularly seems to be the most common answer... and use good, natural products. Also get plenty of sleep.

What's Old in this industry? I refer to woman because guys can have all the lines and wrinkles and no one says anything. In fact...they give guys more respect! Do they give female reps the same? One of those inequality issues that will always exist. Cosmeceuticals.... here I come! Save the bodily fluids for another thread please.

Tretinoin (sp?), aka Avita or Retin A. The vit. A supplement does wonders on wrinkles. Avon and that other crap only empties your wallet, there is no scientific evidence behind any of their crap..... http://www.cafepharma.com/ubbthreads/images//graemlins/crazy.gif

Regular microdermabrasion is my favorite... makes such a difference in my skin. LOVE Botox -- 36 now, look yougner. Cleocin to prevent breakouts. Frankly not very impressed with any of the lotions/potions. Retina okay, not that impressed.

Do NOT smoke.
Exercise hard.
5-10 minutes in the steam room after a workout.
Drink LOTS of water.
Eat LOTS of fruit and veggies.
Keep skin clean.
Do NOT get sunburned or tanned on the face!
Take good multi-vitamin 3-4 times a week.

Anybody know anything about that new non-invasive facelift using some sort of waves that stimulates the collagen in deep layers- done by some plastic surgeons- immediate results- still very expensive- can have it done at lunch and go back to work- collagen reacts over several weeks, so results improve during that time- lasts for at least several years.

Use Kinerase with SPF- Order from the company or stop in at a Plastic or Derm's office. Jennifer Aniston & Brad Pitt buy this stuff by the case!
It rocks.

Checked it out - looks good, but you can buy the same product at the drugstore, Almay Kinetin products, I started using this stuff when it came out a few year ago, it really does work! The main ingredient kinetin is the same ingredient in kinerase.

Also been doing weekly microderm appointments with one of my offices, way cheeper than doing it at the spa or derms office, great new moisterizer on the market now too - Kiehls Marine cream - ooh la la!

I would like to know this as well. I've been toying around with buying it but not at that price tag if it doesn't give results.

you think you'll be young forever? oh i'm sure you'll be banging the 20 year olds when you turn the corner. the only way they'd want your balding, hairy-backed, middle-aged self will be if your wallet's lined w/ platinum. it's easy to get young girls when you're young. when your equipment starts to fail, and the 20 year olds point to your dick and laugh, you'll be on the look-out for a more mature, sophisticated woman.

[/ QUOTE ] I love this! I was thinking the same thing when I got down to your post. I know many guys who think this way, some who screwed up their marriages...now they are old and alone. It is really sad. To the women...remember we are like fine wine. Better with age! I once heard a film critic describe a very young Leonardo DiCaprio as looking like an "unbaked muffin." I have never forgotten that. It is so true of the young ones...no character lines, no life experiences in their faces. Cute, but very uninteresting. I, for one, don't want to grow old with my eyebrows traveling backwards across my scalp. And I would like to still be able to sleep with my eyes closed. A little hair color and some excercise and good food. That is my plan. To hell with those little boys who don't like it. They aren't the ones I care about anyway http://www.cafepharma.com/ubbthreads/images//graemlins/grin.gif

I am using Perricone's Face Firming Activator. GREAT product! You can buy products directly from Perricone's website for the least expensive cost (vs. purchasing from a Dr.'s office). Purchase a copy of his book "The Wrinkle Cure." In it, he talks about his research and he confirms what previous posters have said about proper nutrition, exercise, and sleep. Also, I like Skinceuticals products... all natural and not heavy... and can be purchased from various websites for less money (and free shipping) than a Dr.'s office (although you should consult with an aesthetician before embarking on any skin care regimen to find out what's best for you). And BTW, I've had Botox® Cosmetic and I will say that it is some darn good stuff too... but only when used as indicated on the product label (i.e., between the brows)!! (I should be a sales person for cosmeceuticals!) As for Microdermabrasion, I used to have this procedure done monthly but my new aesthetician pointed out (on my face) the numerous broken capillaries that have the potential to result from aggressive treatments, so I've discontinued this. Regular glycolic peels seem to work just fine. Good luck... we CAN look as good as we feel!!

This procedure is called thermage. I don't know much more about it, but would love to hear if anyone has had it and what they think.

If you are 30 (or in your early 30s) and you need help already, that means you probably got alot of sun when you were younger. In any case, stay out of the sun completely. Cleanse, tone and moisturize your skin on a daily basis. There are a ton of different dermatological procedures that can be done to help skin, but they all depend on what skin issues you have. Find a dermatologist who specializes not only in general derm, but also cosmetic derm - he/she will tell you what your options are. There are some amazing things out there!
