Well..it's over..
it was fun while it lasted..
now that januvia is here and acomplia on its way..why would any fool take 2 injections of a drug they must refrigerate and take before meals when they can just pop a pill once a day.
Especially acomplia, it will have them lose weight, stop smoking, incrs hdl, and lower blood sugar,etc..
no needles!!!

PS amylin people--
I love how you people walk around thinking you are "specialty biotech" reps.
REAL specialty biotech reps:
1. don't call on a bunch of primary care docs
2. actually "sell" the product directly to the docs, not just hand them a bunch of free samples. hint: POs, not sample cards
3. real specialty biotech reps make over 85K in base.
Get over yourselves and come back to earth.

Accomplia causes depression, will be expensive, and have terrible managed care coverage because insurance companies don't care about weight loss! Nothing lowers Post prandials like Byetta. We will just have to work a little harder.

who cares about the indication! Wt. Loss was a primary clinical trial endpoint! Januvia doesn't even get PPG levels to ADA goal of 180 mg/dl 2 hours after a meal. Nice try, but Januvia is just another dog. Sure, docs will try it, and they will think it is shit. They will eventually only offer it to patients who refuse an injection. The drug will not work 3rd or 4th line, and that is where they will try it first. Face it MET/SULF and MET/TZD are the first two drugs they will use.

I was brought on at 85K and BTW, several biotech drugs are sold in Primary Care--it's a big market. Will you dumbasses quit saying Byetta will lose out to Januvia. Januvia had one fucking script in my territory. ONE FUCKING SCRIPT LAST WEEK! I have around 200 scripts a week of NRxs of Byetta. Byetta offers what no other product can: drop in A1C and weight loss. Bye Merckie losers.

Byetta works after the orals start to fail before insulin use, thus the DPP-IVs will have very little or no efficacy at this point. This is not such a difficult thing to understand. Yes, docs will initally try the DPP-IVs before Byetta for those that are failing other orals, but after their patients show no efficacy, Byetta will be recommended.

Do any reps know what is the current sampling for Byetta.

Thanks

Heard they use Acomplia and Januvia instead of clorox to keep the water fountain at Amylin HQ clean....That is about the only thing they are good for....
