What is the working culture like at LabCorp? They are number two in the country behind Quest, correct? Any feedback would be helpful.

There should be open positions, because they are firing due to productivity. No severance, just sending long time employees on their way. They still haven't gotten the commission structure correct. Just be careful.

Listen, unless you people LIKE cleaning up problems as part of the selling process don't get involved with Lab sales. I was not informed of these issues up front and am currently very upset with my position. I am looking for the first door out of this CRAZY industry.

What regions/districts seem to have the most issues?

ALL OF THEM HAVE ISSUES and lots of them NEVER get solved- some have less issues than others, there is no perfect territory in this field.

Pathology sales is a whole different ballgame in the medical field be prepared to close new accounts every week and solve hundreds of problems, deal with histotechs, lab assistants, pathologists, sales managers, doctors/clients, nurses, office managers, RVP's and corporate-- its like pharma but even more people to report to than just your manager. And guess what- in this field, your on your own, your territory can make or break you- it's move it or lose it.

The sales management team is the worst in the industry. "Churn and Burn' is their motto ... they burn you out with meaningless damage control administrative tasks (fixing everything that's wrong with their service) while you're trying to maximize sales time in the field, then ask, "Where are the numbers?" Too cheap to hire administrative support to handle the multitude of billing, testing errors, etc...You could work 24 hours a day fixing all of the problems in each of their accounts while being expected to produce $5-10K per month. The lowest common denominator of individuals I've ever encountered in my lifetime. Stay away!

you don't like to work for a living? You want everything handed to you? A team has everyone helping drive the primary objective; not to serve you.
"It's not what the company can do for you; it's what you can do for the company."

You sound like perfect Account Management material if you like handling billing and other administrative issues rather than concentarting on driving sales.
You should use your $50 to send Don flowers thanking him and senior management for keeping a schmuck like yourself employed.

I am in a position to offer you pay-back against LabCorp. In the past 2-3 years I and a few others have had our lives negatively affected by LabCorp’s business practices and by their treatment of their employees. LabCorp like other public- traded companies takes the interest of its stockholders over its employees and customers. While there are companies that maintain this balance LabCorp goes above and beyond what is acceptable to expand their bottom line at the expense of their employees and contractors. LabCorp will under-staff PSC’s jeopardizing the safety of their clients and the safety of their employees and their recent rescinding of a hiring freeze is no justification of their past practices. Neither is their demand of shifting of their cost liabilities to their contractors.
Because of that and the current economic crisis we and our internal group (The Lab Rats) have decided to declare Jihad (Hey it works for the Muslims!) against LabCorp. We have over the past years attempted to bring a specific issue to the attention of several state and federal agencies to no avail. Apparently nobody in any branch of government seems to care about what we have uncovered. The information we have compiled WILL cripple LabCorp’s method of doing business not to mention it will completely erode any confidence that their clients may have. This Information WILL effectively cut LabCorp’s price per share 50% if not more. It will also affect Quest, Bio-Reference Labs, etc.
In the next couple weeks we will be making a video about how to exploit the information we have uncovered to one’s own personal benefit. If any employee of LabCorp has any additional information (emails, general observations, video, audio, anyone you would like to throw under a bus, etc) the send it to 1nf4d3l@gmail.com. If you require assistance for gathering information we will be more than happy to help. We will be releasing this video AFTER Jan, 20, 2009 for strategic reasons.
