If I got a DUI, do I have to tell? If I got it in my personal vehicle and the judge gave me a license for work purposes. I heard that Solvay is self insured so I will be fine with keeping it hush hush.
Any insight would be great.

You had better read our corporate policies manual about this, and give a copy to your atty as well. Usually, any rep with any recent DUI IS terminated. I have a friend from a former company who had this happen, and he was let go once HR discovered his DUI. This occurred about 4 years ago.

Unfortunately yes --- you do have to tell your manager and at the end of the year there is a form you must fill out with any or all violations. also, they run a check every 2 years on your record which will show any violations. the rates are based on driving performance by the whole group of employees. Sorry but you will probally loose your job unless you received probation in which case that is not REALLY a conviction - however if you were convicted and lost your lisease (even if you are allowed to drive for work) if sounds like you were convicted. Read your manuel -- I beleive it states that you must report any violation - even parking and speeding tickets.

No... fuck that! - I'd definitely wait on them to find you out - if you confess you'll be serving yourself up on a silver platter and you'll be just as fired now as you will be later - save your confessions for church - they're not going to give you a break for a DUI just because you were an honest Abe! - Why throw yourself under the bus? You might as well take the check and bank up a big savings acount for as long as you can - you deserve it! - Have a drink on me!!

As a result of this post, I am going to recommend that Solvay should do a check all employees’ driving records each week for the following 3-6 months to see if there are any convictions for DUI or reckless driving (which accompanies a DUI). In addition, it would be well worth the money spent to have a company do a docket check on all localities arrest records and arraignment records to see if any names of arrestees match up to Solvay employees names.
Anyone getting a DUI is a scum bag lower than a drug dealer. When you drink and drive you put everyone’s families at risk. At least the drug dealers kill each other but DUI drivers put everyone at risk. I hope you’re gone by Monday you worthless piece of garbage. You don’t deserve a cushy job like this.

Aren't you the little policeman? Maybe you can volunteer to have the associated cost taken from your check. Now that would be helpful. In for a penny, in for a pound.

Actually, real policeman would be somewhat more accurate. And yes, getting any DUI offender off the road is worth any cost. Loose one friend or loved one and you will never think the same about DUI again.

I'm not little. I'm not a cop. However, I will beat the living snot out of your bitch ass. The drunk driver costs thousands of lives a year.
Not convinced? Stand infront of my car after I've had 7 beers and check my reaction time.

Let he or she who is without sin cast the first stone. The average female is DUI in most states after 1 drink, males after 1.5 to 2 drinks. A drink is a beer, an 8 oz. glass of wine [try drinking a measuring cup of wine - one cup = 8 oz. - and see how far it fillls up your glass.
So come back from Disneyland.
While you're at it, Superjudge Captain of the World, don't forget the corporate personnel in Marietta - I saw more than one of them leave dinner meetings after 4 or 5 drinks [vile white zinfandel, or rum & cokes - eh, cap'n?] and get in their conspicuous consumer cars [read Porsche Boxster, Corvette, Mini-Coopers...right, slick Willie?] and head onto the I 75 Speedway.

Wow. An angry little cop. I'll decline your offer to stand in front of your car. A drunk, angry, little cop; no thanks.
