View Full Version : Phadia's Pharmaceutical-Industry-Inferiority Complex

I can't believe how many times I have heard people in this company bash the pharmaceutical industry, and for no reason.
What makes this company so much better? Message for the pharma-haters out there: Get over yourself.
Two of my friends are Specialty Reps: One is in Oncology for Glaxo and the other is an HIV Specialist for Abbott. These drugs save lives, and dwarfs the topic of allergies.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy selling the test. But I am just sick of people bashing an industry that we all came from. And one that most of us are going to end up back in very soon.

I too was a pharma rep-THAT'S NOT SALES-that's the point. Now shut up and practice stocking shelves. Who cares what people say

This proves my point. Now shut up and pass out your codes, you condescending dick.

I rather pass out codes then go back to Pharma. If you really think that working for Phadia is the same as Pharma then you have no clue! How is the snow?

That's yor problem. This job is not passing out codes. It is changing habits and selling the idea of a proper diagnosis. If you are just passing out codes you will never succeed. you can however succeed in pharma by just having your samples in the closet. Once again-sales vs. sample bitch. Any more questions -DICK

Your quote is a bit impolite but otherwise very well stated.

Yeah, one more question: Why are you such an asshole?
I know how to sell this test, moron. My problem is that there are jerkoffs in this company that have some kind of inferiority complex when it comes to pharmaceuticals.
You can stay here and "sell". I am going to "sample" and make bonus.
By the way, the good pharmaceutical reps actually do sell. In sales terminology, it is called "Missionary Sales". You should be familiar with that term, since management is fucking you over, and you seem to like it. "Oh, I am not making bonus, but I am in DIAGNOSTIC sales." What a sucker.

Need a tissue? So you're taking your ball and going home-fine. Don't forget to stomp your feet and pout on the way out.

I have been selling ImmunoCAP for about a year. I left Pharma a few years ago and never wanted to go back. I was reluctant to take this job with Phadia and have yet to regret it. I am not bashing Pharma, but make no mistake there are huge differences between this job and Pharma. Some people are content with the Pharma Sales job and that is fine. I prefer this job over Pharma for many reasons.
I don't drink Kool-Aid, I prefer something stronger, that goes with Diet Coke. To each his own is how I look at this topic. I don't we need to bash Pharma, but I understand how some of us feel there is a big difference between the two. I too know people selling oncology products and they have a different outlook on thier jobs versus selling to the Primary Care setting. Specialized Pharma products is different than selling the Zyrtec or Astelin products. My experience is that most Pharma Reps want a specialized field and that is where Phadia comes into play.

You are in sales to make money jackass and I know 95% are not making anything here.
Phadia specialized ??? Selling allergy test to PC, NP's, and PA's is hardly specialized. Dumb ass!

I agree with you. Some people here think this is a specialty position. Just because it is a different sell than pharmaceuticals does not make it specialty. I enjoy selling it, and prefer it to selling pharmaceuticals in primary care, but let's not compare it to specialty.
