Message to Corporate and our Managers

Since pretty much everyone in the company now knows about this site, maybe we can use it as a way to communicate freely and respectfully. This site is completely anonymous which should make you feel as though you can voice your thoughts w/o fear of retaliation.

**I never answer the on-line surveys honestly as I feel that I will be identified. I'm sure most of the field would agree and probably do the same thing that I do. So to all of the corporate people, toss all the survey data you have including NLC surveys, none of the info that you have is accurate.

** I don't feel that the compensation plan was thought out very well and I for one stand to lose a minimum of 25,000-30,000 because of the changes to the plan. I think that if you took a survey from the field, you would see that a great number of people are unhappy (or just read the tasteless posts).

I was on the compensation conference call before the implementation and heard nothing but negative comments about the new plan. For some reason, corporate followed through with it anyway. It has been a few months into the new plan and no one has called another conference call to see how everyone feels about it. I think that would be a great idea if we could do that!

There are so many things going on right now with competition (Blue Sky, S&N, etc.), the comp plan needs to be addressed, and morale is low.

Corporate/managers, please show us that you are interested in our happiness. Show us that KCI still cares about it's patient's and not just the shareholders. Executive level staff....start purchasing some stock on the open market! Help make the company grow. Show us that our companies Core Values still matter to someone.

Try to keep this post clean. Be considerate to those that have comments. And most important, don't insult your teammates.

It would be nice to see a manager or two actually sign up and show us that you care. Use your name, give some input.

********Let's turn this Board into something positive!! I hate to burst your bubble or kill the cat but guess what? We have tried to get the attention of the board of directors. I know the top brass and the board have read these posts yet not a thing has been done, or will be done. They care about one thing and that is money. Dr Jim is out hunting wabbits with his Elmer Fud hat on. I thought he would come and bail us out, but that did not happen. KCI is a shell of what he created. It is all about the shareholders and jacking the stock up high enough so they can cash out more millions. There are many posts pleading for help if you read through all the BS posts. So take my advice, get out!!!!!!!! I am just about there and I am counting the days till the end. Anyway thanks for trying ,don't complain too much or you will be in the dog house like I am now. This company wants robots and kids right out of college and if you haven't figured that out then shame on you. To the people that say we can't get jobs better that pay better than KCI that is total bull. I have not been on one interview that pays less, espically with the new compensation plan. Company's know that if you want us on call 24/7 then you have to pay them fairly. KCI used to know that but they forgot the core values that they preached to us every freakin day. Well I hope what comes around goes around. To the people that have tried to make a change here thank you and to the people that woke me up and told me to get out of here thank you even more.

My concern and frustration lies in that its seems that the vary tools that the field uses to maintain and drive business are being taken away. We are told to maintain numbers (and we really want to because of the commission structure) but cant use the sale tools to make the sale. It's like driving a car without a gas pedal, transmission or engine. But the car looks good. I sincerely plea for management to equip us with the right and appropriate tools so we can work, make money and have happy satisfied employees. Perhaps investors are more important! However, I will still forge on doing the best I can.

Great Q MedRep. Perhaps the exec. committee are wondering the same. I just feel cheated that we cant treat our "A" list customers with bagels and coffee in the morning when making a call. Something to sit with them over coffee and talk about how the agency is doing and how KCI can partner in making a difference. Now, since the voice mail yesterday VAC dinners are cancelled. It's not easy just showing up with a "blue man" and attempt an engaging meaningful sales call. Makes me feel kind of like a robot just going through the motions. I much preferred the warm nuturing sales call and believe it or not, many of my clients looked forward to a morning chat over starbucks, or the ability to have coffee at starbucks for 20 minutes.

With that said, onward and upward. Thats the beauty of sales, we need to get creative and create new tools that'll work for us. Our skills are why the company hired us, not for them to tell us how to sell.

Ok. I know that I stated this in another post and I guess that I didn't think that I would have to keep reiterating the same point over and over. You need to be clear. Don't expect that those at corporate are going to know what sales tools you are talking about. I for one have been here a long time and have seen many tools come and go. I like the tools that we currently have available to us. If you want something back, tell them what you want! :)

I'm sure the person that made the statement is different from the one that made the DA statement.

Wow! Just got that message about VAC Dinners and L&L's. Bad news for VAC Dinners (for the next three months anway). L&L's can still be done and the per person cost has been raised to $15.00. I guess that is positive although I have never had to pay over 10.00pp for a L&L!

Actually, I got it twice because DD sent it out to Home Care as well. Same script! :)

I am with you regarding taking bagels and coffee to our morning meetings, especially our WCC visits! It used to be a great way to get in the back and see our people for a few minutes!! :(

One thing I like to do is find out when my patient's have appointments at the WCC and I meet them there. Good way to look at the wound w/ the MD or DPM and make suggestions. Makes for a different more consultative kind of relationship. :)

Either you (1) falsify your records and make up names for the additional 10, or (2) run the risk of eating (perhaps literally as well as figuratively!) the cost of the additional 10 lunches when you are refused reimbursement for not having 30 names on your attendence roster.

Hello, I wanted to post a quick question and hopefully a rep or manager can give me some good insight. I am a medical equipment rep in the cardiology marketplace and have an interview with KCI coming up (acute care). It seems interesting and the VAC looks like a great product. Basically I would like to know what the money is like, realistically- average rep to top rep- and what % of the force is making their numbers.

Would I be better served to hold out for a Stryker, Boston Scientific, Medtronic type company- or is KCI a good place to be with realistic chance of making 150-200K?

I appreciate any responses........

It depends on what area you are looking at but realistically there is no way in hell that you will make over 150K if you are lucky enough to make that!

The territories are getting smaller and smaller and commissions are not as good as they used to be. Definitely hold out as long as you can!

The Vac is a good product no doubt. But to constantly remind someone to use it, and constantly being in over and over to educate people means that it has some issues. Most Reps I know from different companies; once their product is sold/rented there is very little maintence required for up keep. Im not saying to ignore the client, but I feel my WOCN in my facilities threaten me with the VAC. If I dont come in and help out then the VAC doesnt get put on. If I catch the WOCN on a bad day VAC's dont get ordered. BTW the education method they use is not working IMO, if it did there would not be so many repeated training for most people. There has to be a better way to train the staff. Another thing is that now most facilities refuses to train the trainer because nurses are demanding more pay if they are the VAC specialist. Someone needs to reevaluate the training method or figure out a easy approach for hospital like the ones I deal with. Again, just my opinion in my territory, dont want to step on anyone toes. My territory just got cut again for the 2nd time, I'll be lucky to squeeze out 120k. IMO I would hold out for something better.

I think you hit the nail on the head. The key word is "act". They probably are not that good of an actor though. My favorite is fucknuckle, it shows that that person can come up with something unique even with a pea brain.
