Does anyone know what has happened to Big Ed.

I have tried to contact him on numerous occassions, left voice mails, even tried to go through his one daughter.

He has nothing to be ashamed about; Carnrick was the best time of my life in the Pharma Industry and I am sure alot can say that Thanks to Ed and what he created as a company and a culture.

Maybe Ed "bought" his own island...and he can now stand alone...with all of his retirement millions.

I had coffee with Ed about two weeks ago. He is not on an island unless you want to call AZ, OH, NJ or VA islands. He is doing fine....spending much time with his family and enjoying his grandchildren. He has three daughters who were all pregnant when I talked with him. One was expecting twins. So he spends most of his time flying to and fro.

I don't think he is in one place long enough to answer voice mails left on his machine in NJ. Just a hard headed as ever and will never like the new world of electronics.

He does read his mail so a note would be good. He is full of good intentions but like many of us they get lost in this world we live in.

However I don't believe you would recognize him if you ran into him. He has lost a tremendous amount of weight, his hair is snow white and he has a beard. He could pass for the Santa a played if only he had his belly back.
Don't give up...he is not hiding.

I ran into Ed at the Livingston Mall here in NJ about 2 weeks ago! He was sitting down having a sandwich by himself. We almost didn't recognize him. He looks great though! You can't beat his big bear hugs! I was with Rosie Militano, who worked in the home office also. I believe he said 2 of the new grandchildren are here and the twins are due this month. He knows he's bad about keeping in touch with people. He's living a good life so we can't be mad. Miss the Carnrick days so much, especially the family feeling of the holidays! Nothing will ever compare, especially this miserable place I'm working now. Hope all is well with everyone. Happy Holidays!!!!

IRONICALLY; I spoke to ED yesterday(Sunday) via cell phone. He did share with me the passing of the one twin. He was in Scottsdale, but headed back to NJ for Thanksgiving(at least that is how I understood it). He sounded great inspite of the bad news.

He said he is coming back to AZ in December; and I will try to have lunch or dinner with him then. He says he usually keeps the cell phone in the car and doesn't know how to get the voice mails off of it. Ed and technology never mixed very well, although when he got the voice mail at Carnrick it was like the kid with the xmas present.

Saw Ed last weekend in New Jersey at the GREAT reunion we had. The turnout was excellent and anyone who missed it, missed a great time.
Ed was very congenial and I believe this get together helped him as it helped many others. Too many lives were upset but now many are getting them back together. There are still several who were with King who are still floundering. Hopefully they will find the employment they need in the near future.
