Well, he wasn't particularly smart in going to a company like PDL, so you might want to factor that into the overall answer to your question.

Plus he was smart enough not to get nailed by Chris Hansen on NBC's "To Catch a Predator series".

Smart? No.
He's a typical middle management, limited vision type, just earn money for him to buy his wife jewlery. Takes care of himself first with corporate survivalist ass covering in the workplace. Integrity and Smarts wouldn't rush to the top of the list of words used most people who have worked with him...unless they are benefiting from insider cronyism also. He is the kind that is capable of making limited motion on the waters to generate little turbulence (good poker player), this also means he won't step up with initiatives unless driven to by a higher ups in the poker playing crony club. Hired at PDL by a disgraced CSO/CEO and trying to hang in there with one of the new waves of management. Creepy while trying to keep still to not seem creepy to those observing him. Never seen anywhere except where the higher ups are, and goes home early every day. If you can find him in the office at four its a miracle. Wouldn't step up to the plate when it is his duty to if it impacts his position in the slightest. yuck.
