Merz was recently voted one of the best companies to work for in the country...I've heard mostly good things about where they are headed..
and pay is higher than most companies (high base, high bonus)
What is the current scoop.

What is considered high salary? High Bonus?

Um, that was 2004 and it was one of the best small co.s to work for. Now they can't even get their employees to say they like working there, much less a national firm.

Merz does NOT compare in salary & bonus to mid or large pharma. No way! It's a crap operation selling non clinical garbage.

I heard that the pay is comparable to big pharma but not nearly as much stress, is this true?

Hey,
Do you need previous pharma sales experience in order to work as a sales rep? I am interested in applying but am finding it difficult to snag interviews, any advice?
Thanks

Au contraire, idiot. Most if not all of the top reps are in the six figure range including bonus. Sure, the product line ain't exactly rocket science, but who are you to judge ANY rep or company portfolio. How much of that crap you learn in big pharma is actually usable in the field?? That's right, virtually none of it. It's silly shit that sales training and marketing produce to justify their worthless positions.
So Mr. Clinical, unless you have "MD" after your name, then you need to shut your piehole.
Truth is, pharma sales won't ever be as glamorous or as highly regarded as other professions, but we all make do with what we have. People like you are just pathetic losers who like to dish out insults because you can't deal with your low self-esteem.

This is a low grade company whose reps cannot get a job elsewhere in pharma. Clinically they are void and low grade. Good luck. Pay in comparison - poor.

You must be the turd that Merz wiped off it's ass some time ago for poor performance or PDMA violations.
Do yourself a favor and don't listen to his steaming pile of crap. Most Merz reps are happy where they are....away from big pharma.

I came from "big Pharma" and am so happy to be out of there!!! Merz is a great company... Everyone knows everybody else and you can call up and talk to the "big guys" when necessary. When was the last time someone at big pharma (other than your direct DM) knew your name or would accept your phone calls??? Sure, there are advantages to working for a large co. but I have found that there are many more working for a smaller, privately held co. AND, I will make more this year, without the stresses, than I did in my last years at a larger company. Tradeoffs? Sure, but I have over 10 years of experience in pharma sales and would not trade places to go back to big pharma for anything!

I've found out that people who use the quote "trust me" are generally UN-trustworthy!
And learn how to spell you half-wit moron.

I couldn't agree more about working for a smaller company. I worked for Abbott for 7 years and then moved part-time with Merz after I had a baby. I worked for 2 years for them and loved it! Great people, good products, lower stress, etc.
Now I've been on hiatus raising my two kids and want to work for Merz again. It's been 8 years since I have worked. Anyone know of sales opportunities in Charlotte?

Yeah Sure this was from the world renowned High Point Business Journal and is baseless. I
t was either a bonus from a lunch at some cheap restaurnat or a freebie by Mary Ann under the desk.

HELLO TERRY!
You know what? Lederle is not big Pharma. It is bilge pharma and you are a product.
You told me the same drivel. Those who believe it are fools.

We have interviewed quite a few of your reps and find that there was no clinical substance to them or drive in their selling model/ability.
Many of the reps did not even close the interview. You would be eaten alive selling a cardiology drug, diabetes drug or pain drug.
I belive that is the problem. It is like comparing a high schooler with someone from middle school. The caliber of rep that mid or big pharma seeks cannot be found here.
Now with so many great reps who were laid off from other companies b/c of down sizing, it survival of the fittest.

I'm with Merck and interviewed Merz people. They figured it sounded the same - so what? WHAT A MESS! We would not go near them. They sounded illiterate and had no idea how to read or present a study much less sell.

merz reps are not real clinical. would you be with creams and shit? they could not dissect a study or tell you the difference in types if their life depended on it.
