Does anyone else miss the good old Dura days, '93-'98, I much as I do? Not great money, but good people and good times. Probably the most employee friendly organization I ever worked for.

OP, you're right, we had no idea that pharma would evolve to what it is today. We were free to sell and maximize our time to be in front of docs. I have so many conference calls and planning with pod mates, it's hard to spend the 8 hours/day it takes to be effective. I'll always treasure my years with Dura and the people who made that organization great.

I sure do miss the Dura days. I work @ a company now that, micro-managed 24/7. Upper Mgt is now looking for "Type A Crazies", to sell. That was Dura.

The best years were prior to the IPO. Mangement became like every other pharma dickhead being too scared to sell. Guys like Tom Compton, Dave Hansen, Buddy Prettyman (tough guy wannabe) ruined that company. The Garner nephews were assholes too.

The Garner Nephews were big assholes! Fuck them both, They used their family positions to get ahead at the company. Prettyman on the other hand. He was caught doing something underhanded from what I remember. Tough guy wannabe? Well, the guy was a Navy Seal. Which means that he can kill you just by looking at you. Dura was a great company in this industry, during a much simplier time. A much better time for that matter.

Was one of the Garner Nephews Scott Garner?

Remember when they used to take you for a professional photo and put it on the home office wall so the inside folks knew who was selling the products. That was so unique.

I began there in 99 then went to Elan. I loved it all 'cause I had fun managers. I transfered to another pharma co but it is still fun. We don't follow the big pharma model. If you are not happy find a place that suits you.

Name of your company? It would be great to find such a company still in existence!
