This is SO not the place to ask. There are a few complete idiots who post in here. Since they are anonymous they say very ignorant things. To those of us who work hard everyday, it is really embarrassing. Talecris is a great company with a bright future. The paths here are determined by a variety of elements. I would ask your recruiter or HR. Good luck.

Don't know who the previous poster is but they don't know what they are talking about.

There is no career path for sales reps. Reps have been asking for one and promises made but nothing done. Secondly, all marketing people hired in the last 3 years have been from outside the company except for 1 who was promoted from the field and held an Asst Product Mgr position for approx 1 year., then left the company. Another person was promoted to Asst Training Mgr for 1 year and was recently promoted to a NAM. Virtually every marketing job sin the last 3+ years have gone to an outside hire. There is a mentor program for a future manager(1 field rep participating) and that's all that I know about.
HR or a Headhunter are not valid sources of info because they have an agenda. Fortunately, cafepharma has some good info but not always presented in a professional way.
If you want to progress from field to HQ, under the current format, look elsewhere

Forgot, 1 NAM recently promoted to RSC; Only RSC promoted from within Talecris in the last 2+ years. 4 have come from outside and 2 current ones were from Bayer background and have been DM(RSC) since inception of Talecris. 2 of the 4 were from outside and are no longer with the company

i'm a relatively new rep. here and i want to end up in HQ marketing.. what should i do? seriously.. are there junior marketing team positions available or intern positions? i only see outside hires.. there is an opening posted on the GamX team, but requires marketing experience.. i prefer working on that team since it's the biggest brand and i'm tired of prolastin.. so what's the path, or should i plan on looking at other companies??

You want to be promoted? And you are tired of Prolastin? Please!!!! Have you got a new patient? Do you know what it does for someone who has been suffering? Do us a favor and promote yourself somewhere else!
