Insiders are selling, good news for Velcade. Suddenly I am concerned about where our stock is headed.

When will we get bought?

I hope soon! It sucks right now, maybe a merger will make it better.

When will we get bought?

much talk about Pfizer this past week and continuing over the weekend. Celgene stock price shows tremendous strength during a down week. SOMEONE knows SOMETHING is going on. Maybe the Dacogen survival data has fallen short, maybe there's a buyout offer, maybe the results of Amrubicin, CLL and NHL trials are finally convincing market movers to take notice. Time will tell but the one thing that's for sure, those of us who've been patient and have hung on when PPS was driven down, will be flying high in the next few weeks/months. Continue to hold is all I can say with any conviction.

good luck to all!

Finally back up in the 70's and holding! Anyone know when second quarter earnings are scheduled to be released? Any word on the possibility of a split?

Well,

There is a town meeting at Summit this week -- we will see what is cooking.

It looks like it went from around $67 a share to around $71 a share in the past month or so.

Not bad. . . .

My understanding is that if it splits, you won't have more money, but more shares.

HOWEVER, if each of those split shares go up -- then you've made on the deal.

A decision to split stock may be because the cost of an average share is a bit too high, and the average investor can't or won't be able to invest as easily.

Keep fingers and toes crossed. . .

Actually, I am new to stocks. So what?

By the looks of your post, you need an article on sentence punctuation and capitalization.

Better still, take a course in common courtesy.

I hope you are not in any teaching position, or in any position of authority -- because berating people is likely your only forte' in life; and your lack of patience is quite apparent.

I'm so sure that you have an such in-depth understanding of the stock market, that you are already on your second million.

Please, impart your in-depth stock wisdom upon us little underlings.

If you had any real interest in the topic, you would have asked me to keep everybody posted about the town meeting; but instead you chose to berate.

Your true motivation is showing. . .

You are probably one of those people who think that their money is doubled with a stock split.

You are probably one of those people who think that their money is doubled with a stock split.

you really are being jeuvenile. Instead of trying to help someone understand a subject, you tear them down and step on them in hopes of making yourself feel better and look better to others. What really happens in this situation is that others see your selfish, immature, insecure, qualities and stay further away from you than before. Which helps them but hurts you..try to be a bigger person and feel what others feel instead of focusing on yourself.

AP: 18 July 2008

After debriefing both Congress and The Joint Chiefs of Staff this morning, General C. Powell (USA ret.) has informed Wall Street that upon meeting our mediocre management team that Celgene 'can not, and should not' lead us into any battle including any attempt to defeat Dacogen at this time.

Right now analysts are reviewing his press release and copies of video to confirm the validity of such statements.

All inquiries should be forwarded to Sr. Management or any available paper shredder - whichever you stumble over first.

at least he's done something to include in a book. You on the other hand must find fault in everyone you see but yourself. Some of the biggest LOSERS of all time are found right here at Celgene and Im embarrassed for them. YOU NEED TO FIND SOMETHING TO BE PROUD OF!
You'd be surprised how it changes your outlook.

Don't know why I decided to casually drop back in on this horridly negative website after months of absence; but, nevertheless I did. However, before I check out (never to return, I trust), I thought I'd calm a handful of you Celgene folk out there.

Celgene is no more likely to be bought than Gilead, Amgen, or Genentech. Before anyone suggests otherwise, perhaps they should pay the $$$ to get S&P's (expensive) 9 page overview of the company updated just last week. If Celgene were deemed a target, it would certainly be mentioned in this report. Additionally, the merger with Pharmion was greeted almost unanimously by Wall Street analysts as good news. That maneuver alone is likely to stave off any would-be suitors (e.g., Pfizer) in the near term.

I just came to Celgene from a big-pharma company which has been rumored (not by CafePharma bottom-dwellers, but by REAL financial analysts) since 1998.... Yes, 10 years of relatively consistent speculation. It STILL hasn't happened and it never may. No one, not even Celgene is immune from a takeoever, but its senseless to speculate and worry. It does no one any good.

Finally, the stock is fine. And I can tell you for a fact there has been average insider activity on the stock -- no more or less than any other company out there in its peer group.

Now I hope others of you will join with me in leaving this pathetic site, never to return. Let's make the company where we are now a great company as far as it's in our own abilities to do so.

great insight and very well said. If we are fortunate enough to have a position here at Celgene, we should thank our lucky stars and do the best job we can with the best attitude possible. If we are stupid enough to be bitter about a "promotion" we didn't get or some other stupid occurance, then we don't deserve a job with a company like Celgene. You will find problems and complaints with any job, but very seldom will you find the gold and riches that Celgene has offered so many of us (even with a lackluster performance at times) so shut your negative mouths or get out and find something else to do.

Celgene listed as one of the 6 Rising-Star Momentum Stocks

So, again, if you don't like your employer, there are plenty of other companies that you could pursue. (And once you learn that you're surrounded by fallible human beings yet again, you can renew your pattern of trashing everyone around you [except, of course, yourself]).

wow, I've been one of those lackluster performers a couple of times and even though it feels like crap, you're right, Ive become richer just by association with Celgene. Your comments made me look at things differently. Im having a pretty good year this year so Im in a better position but your comments are well taken and appreciated. THanks for putting things in perspective for us.

Has anyone heard that Celgene might have interest in a biotech development firm called ImmuneRegen BioSciences (IRBO)?

hey great call on DNA. so if we're as likely to get bought as them, does that mean it's 100% we're going? Very insightfull too on "the stock is fine." up 60% ytd and that's fine? golly i would have given it at least a pretty good, I guess it's all that time at big pharma since 1998. but at least you have now joined a nice nimble 30 billion dollar little pharma company.
