Do you guys know if they contact your present manager when you get hired?

yes, if you list that person as reference.

not always true. My RD insisted on calling and spoke with my former manager for a half hour.

My RD asked, I told him no, because if I didn't get the job, I wouldn't be able to go back to the old one.

If someone would call your RD, knowing that it could destroy your career, and they haven't offered you a job or anything, would you want to wor for that person?

well, I'll tell you this. That was the case for me and the answer to your question is still yes. 120k this year!
