Trying to get some real info before I decide to accept an interview with your organization. The recruiter will bullshit me to the rosey picture and all that garbage. Should I even waste my time interviewing with your company. Im told it is a nice, above average base 75-85k. Decent pipeline, nothing too sexy but stable, above average bene's, good car, not a baby sitting agency and no roomates at training for 2 weeks max. Is any of this true??? This is the type of info that obviously you cant ask a DM nor the recruiter if you want a straight answer. Thanks for the mature honest feedback. Dont be a prick and give me some childish response. Just trying to sift out the bs before i give anytime to this.

run screaming. Babysitting is a full time job. The only truths were that the pay is decent and no roommates. Ask the recruiter about the turnover %.... that answer will say it all.

Very true. Micromanaging is a must, products are generic, extremely high turnover. Pay is good, but not important if you are unemployed within 12 months. Whose the recruiter, is it still McVicker & Assoc?

This company will suck the life out of you. I joined a year ago and have been trying to leave ever since. They manage by intimidation and fear and try to catch everyone doing something wrong. Very little positive reinforcement.

sounds totally miserable. fuck um. I dont need another set of assholes trying to tout their cracker jack educations and power trips. I have heard very mixed feedback on this company but one thing as a seasoned successful rep i dont need is micro management. Let um hire the newbie and brainfuck them till they catch on. I dont need a babysitter, and want to be left alone to run my business. Thanks for the feedback.

MISERY is an understatement. It seems these days the new hires at this company are unprofessional and inexperienced. Experienced, INTELLIGENT people candidates can see through the BS and have been wise enough to investigate the terrible reputation of this company. The majority of the top notch reps have moved on and away from Salix's caustic environment. I think their only products currently are bowel preps. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to sell these. Go ahead and try it for few months or a year, it will make you appreciate either where you came from or where you end up when you realize the HUGE mistake you made by coming to Salix.

Then leave already. The answers to the first post are all true. As with any job/profession you get out of the company what you put in to it. If you can operate on your own, your are left alone. The negative posts are most likely from those who couldn't cut it, are on their way out or will never be happy with any pharmaceutical company. Make your own decision but don't rely to heavily on information from this site.

fair enough. thank you for the maturity with the feedback. I have over 10yrs exp. with big to medium pharma. Was approached by recruiter about Salix, I have a lot of unanwered questions, and the vibe im getting is for a very successful, polished, well respected rep, this is a huge step backwards.

Review the "Is anyone happy at Salix" thread for a different perspective.

What I got from your recommended post is that most people do not like this company, but are glad to get a paycheck. What that tells me is that I am definitely better off in my current position. I can honestly say that I respect the company I work for. It is fairly obvious that Salix must be an environment that employees don't trust or respect the company. They seem to think it is better than nothing. A standard that is unacceptable to me. Good luck to those of you who have to stay there.
