Would some of you post a range a sales rep might expect to make with Shire, salary plus commission? I currently work in primary care and want to move into specialty sales, and Shire has an opening in my area. I just want an idea so I can determine if it's worth my time applying. Thanks!

Oh, cause your so great in sales that your company has to give you a script to sell off of. Get over your koolaid drinking self.
To the person who wants to apply for the job, they pay great, but they are psychotic.

I'll try and give you the honest answer to the best of my knowledge... Depending on experience, expect between 60-80k base plus quarterly bonus 4k each.... hope this helps...

Poor reps, you're carrying the revenue generation for the entire company on your backs, making pennies compared to the fat cats at HQ. Go work for a company that rewards you for your work appropriately.

I know several reps who got screwed at 50k. If you get the job make sure you get the most out of base salary because Shire will keep you at or as close to 50k as they can. Thank god a friend of mine tipped me off and I pushed for near max (62,500) You will be told how they are working on it all the time but you will soon see it is all about market share growth and all SI bonus money. If you dont push hard for the salary you will be working your ass off for a 50-60 total package in 1-3 years when you plateau. Believe it!

This is completely true. I started at $55000 and never got more than $60000 total in a year.

This is very true. Shire has already lost many good reps because of this. But that is nothing compared to how many they will lose later this year and next year.

I am so glad these comments were posted. I interviewed last year for a Senior Rep job in Renal. I really liked the guy I interviewed with, although, I believe he may have left the company. Anyway, I did not get the job, obviously, and could not figure out what happened. Of course, I got the famous "Dear John" letter without a clue about what happened....anyway, now all the talk about salary, makes me believe that the issue was money, although he stated that my salary was "right in line" with what they were paying for Renal, which was over 100K base......so, why in the heck don't they just tell you this on the FIRST interview. It would sure save so much time.....
