I was wondering what people's opinions were of harmonization between the two departments.

Just a matter of time, then they can justify closing some of the sites eg Ton in the UK.

While in general I think every org change that PCD does is moronic, I think combining (to a large degree) CD & PD makes sense.
With the exception of the handful of people in CD who actually do chemistry, the rest of CD could be combined very nicely with PD and erase the artificial differences in practices and achieve some genuine efficiences.
So I'm in favor of it.
(On the other hand - I think the EDG / PDG setup in PD is a crock of poodle poop. EDG is running around training everyone to do everything - a ginormous waste of time. Should have left EDG (and physprops) as the early group that handed of projects to PDG at first CTM batch. This current EDG/PDG setup is the worst PD permutation I've seen - and I've seen a lot of them.)

The sooner GSK closes Tonbridge the better. They are over-staffed for the number of projects there, and some of those staff are utterly useless
