I'm interviewing for a position in the ECLP program with GE Healthcare. I've read the posts about how different divisions within GE Health aren't doing very well, but I was curious if anybody knows about this program in particular, and if it's a good opportunity. Thanks

Maybe a position in this area (http://www.ge.com/careers/students/eclp/program_details.html) looks good on your resume; sounds to me like an opportunity to indoctrinate a few more GE robotarons for management ...

It is a two year program that will give you a taste of multiple businesses within GE Healthcare. My experience with ECLP has been mixed. Many come out with a sense of entitlement and do not want to put in the work that is required. The good ones come out hungry and bust their ass, but you could say that for any good salesperson. If you are willing to move around and bite the bullet for a few years it can be a good option for you. If you want to make money day 1 I would look elsewhere.

Thanks for your response. It sounds like I would be moving around which isn't a problem, but I would like to know a little more about GE Healthcare in general, and how they do vs. the competition. How is the atmosphere, are people cutting eachother off at the knees, or do employess generally work well together? Also, what kinds of positions do you see the graduates of the program getting into? Is there anything I should know before moving forward with GE? Again thanks for your response, it's hard to get real information from the website and the recruiters.

This is the best way I can sum up GE. Equipment is reliable, but not always cutting edge. GE is always the most expensive. As far as culture, it varies from division to division based on the market. The pay is usually at other companies and most of the ECLPs I have worked with are put into high dollar capital equipment (high potential, turnover). Management talks about teamwork, but your number is the bottom line. I think there is always someone no matter where you are that is willing to toss you under the bus. Teamwork is a cliche. Good luck.
