These positions are open because BI is doing what they do best---finding their ass with both hands. Hello people---major, major layoffs just short of a year ago and now all of a sudden they are recruiting for some of the very positions they eliminated. I would be very leary of a company that tells you they will not lay off their employees because they grew too fast. They will do the right thing, blah, blah, blah.... We bought a bad bill of goods and now we have to restructure and the hell with those who need a job. They used to be a company that truly supported their employees but now not so much. But if you need a job, take it and just remember it's not so much of a job, but a big cya game- how much can you play the matrix game of numbers and kiss ass, but they pay you well. The reality of the this is Pharma reps are a joke out in the sales world. Good Luck!

Micardis for Cardiology, Twynsta (Crapsta) and Aggrenox. Aggrenox is used to reduce the risk of stroke. So it makes sense to sell it to Cardiologists to compete with Plavix. Wait, could that be off label?

Hey Plavix rep, try not to get your panties in a wad. Cardio reps don't carry Aggrenox.

I'm from outside the company and have spoke to a local manager and a recruiter. Senior leadership is looking to hire for the new anticoagulant. The interest in cardio coverage is for the atrial fibrillation indication. If this drug is as good as the research suggests and remains clean (side effects) it will be a blockbuster.

Don't get your hopes up... BI has been struggling lately, they had alot of plans this past year fall short of their expectations. One of them was the field sales force. Entertain the idea but don't count on it, cover your track and interview with other companies.

Retired DM---if this one doesn't get approved and does well (blockbuster) start looking for a new job.

Currently employed....ditto to what the above states.
However, it will get approved and, in spite of ourselves, it will do well.

Given BI's history on hiring sales reps. long before it is necessary, and not being successful in getting drugs through the US FDA, I am not counting on this one. I will be looking as soon as the economy porivdes an avenue to do so
