Looking for some feedback on toothbrush/toothpaste manufacturers. I see lots of Colgate and Oral-B commercials and am hoping to break into this arena. Any advice on who are the better companies to work for? Which products do dental offices prefer and why? What kind of relationships do these companies have with the distributor networks? Thanks for the feedback.

Why? The reps are not sales reps. They are gophers and UPS delivery personnel. Basically it is for those who can not sell or do anything else. Especially Colgate and Crest reps. TV ads sell for them.

Aren't you the high and mighty? Your Mom probably still wipes your butt for you!!! Or maybe you are just jealous or someone who couldn't make it in this space.

Interesting site. I do know from friends that most of these reps do not work. So maybe it is the best job or company to work for.

Um, nope, it's been a while since my mommy wiped me, but thanks for your concern. And since you asked, I am looking forward to working as hard as necessary to be successful, but I would like to work for an ethical company in the dental market. Based on other posts in this forum, the "ethical" part seems to be tricky. From what I know, both P&G and Colgate-Palmolive seem to fit that bill. Again, thanks so much for your witty and helpful responses. NOT!

I agree I worked part time for P&G just doing lunches and the territory rep was stupid. She worked for the company for a long time and couldn't close a door. The hell with sale.

P and G just downsized. Half of their sales reps are gone!

Dental sales is not about sample dropping either!
You need to have knowledge of many products that are used chairside.
You also should know about the competition and whay they have to offer.
