For any future candidate thinking about joining this sh@thole. DON'T DO IT! Imagine the dumb bully from your high school. Now imagine 40 of them. Now imagine them running a company and that is Bioscrip in a nutshell. Try giving HR a call and find out how many are left. How many marketing and sales people have been let go over the past year? Look at the stock price and see what's happened over the past year. How's that purchase of CHS going?

Ha, wish I knew who you were. Got an idea but may be way off as there are so many people unhappy at this crap hole of a company. HR does not care about their employees in the least. This is a horrible horrible place. They are going to beat down CHS until nothing is left. Plus all the people that made that deal are gone. Or most of them. They got their money.

fast forward 2 years... BIOSCRIP sucks. I just came on board a few months ago.... this company and their leaders do not have a clue what they are doing! HA- got a bunch of nurses who they are trying to groom for sales... good luck! I am not hanging around for this party to get started... doubting it ever will!

Hired one of our nurses to sell. Not a clue how to sell. Stick to nursing.

Definitely the worse benefit package of any company I've encountered!! Pay rate is the low end of the industry and paying a pharmacist $1.25 an hour to be a call is such a joke!!!! Even though you get to bill your normal hourly rate if you get called in, it is such an insult. (pay is less than either retail, hospital or pharma scales)
Upper management does even try to pretend that they value their employees.
On the positive side, it is clinically rewarding being able to know we can make such an impact on the quality of life for our patients.

If your considering working for Bioscrip as an Account Executive you should really take a close look at your territory and competitors as well as your branch operations. There are some areas and territories that do really well and some that don't. You definitely don't want to work for a branch that doesn't have their own home visit nurses. If you do you will be stuck contracting and working with other home health agencies. If they screw up working with your patients then it falls back on you. Not to mention sometimes finding an agency can be a challenge and very TIME CONSUMING especially if the patient lives in BFE or has some off the wall insurance. You will also be responsible for collecting large payments up front for services before patients discharge from the hospital. It ultimately depends on the patient's financial situation and their insurance but be prepared to negotiate with patients and case management transactions with dollar amounts in the thousands and then deal with competitors who will get the patient out of the hospital quickly and worry about billing on the back end. This can be damaging to your existing relationships if you have any as well. Here are some other things to consider…

-Qualifying Medicare patients for services. Many do not qualify on paper but getting the necessary documentation up front from the hospital or MD office can be a challenge and Bioscrip will not accept a patient that does qualify. Be prepared deal with Bioscrip's "Medicare Reimbursement Specialists" and spend all day at a hospital convincing the physicians and discharge planners to order certain tests and alter progress notes/qualifying diagnoses. In some cases your competitors will just admit the patient on to their services and bill medicare and run the risk of audit while your still waiting on a final approval from the "Medicare Review Team."

-Be prepared to compete with physicians and hospitals who have partnerships with specialty pharmacies and have their own infusion centers. Infectious disease doctors in particular can be your biggest competitor and in some situations will not allow case managers and discharge planners advocate what's best for the patient upon discharge. Imagine a patient who's truly homebound after a hospital stay having to come into the physicians office for their treatment on a daily basis and not being aware or educated of being able to do it in the comfort of their own home.

The list goes on…do your homework and talk to as many of your existing contacts/previous employees/reps as you can before you take a position with Bioscrip or any other home health or home infusion company. If your willing to accept and face the challenges like I've mentioned above then best of luck to you.

I completely agree. Bioscrip is a horrible horrible company. They do not follow through with their deliveries. My daughter is supposed to get her medication in the mail every 30 days. It is over 2 weeks late, and it has already been paid for.

I had hope that the new leadership team would turn this company around. It didn't happen so far after 8 months and if anything it has gotten worse. Their compensation packet is horrible and their sales leadership tries to put a pretty bow on it when they know it is horrid. Look for another change in leadership soon as they are scrambling to survive. Their stock dirt cheap. They've let go of a lot of great people to cut costs and their drive to improve operations isn't working. Their benefits are costly and yearly evaluations occur much less than yearly to avoid any pay increase. I would recommend staying away!

Bioscrip isn't compensating the majority of it's sales people. The new CEO came in and is quickly destroying what used to be a good company. Many people are quitting. I would not work here; it's HORRIBLE.
