It seems like my manager has been with me a bit more than usual. Anyone else think they are riding with us more?

Now that I am thinking about it. Mine has been riding with me more as well. How about everyone else? How often does your manager ride along with you these days.

My manager has been consistent. Only because she has such a large territory and does not have more time to ride with me.

On a serious note. At least twice every 2-3 months. Not too bad and probably the way it should be since most of us are self-motivated and do our jobs on a daily basis.

There are currently 722 views on this thread. Watch how many views there are by tomorrow. All of these Aptalis employees from the management team keeping a close eye on this web site. JT...are you out there lurking around? Probably in charge of submitting a daily recap to the higher ups on what you find on the site. Self-appointed.

This is all bogus. If you look at the date and times the first four posts were all by the same person. What was he/she trying to stir up? No one in this company has 4-5 rides alongs per month maybe 4-5 per year. Who cares what JT tells management? If his insight only comes from these web postings he is really pitiful.

Detective JT cracks the case once again. I have a case that needs to be solved. It involves the constant depletion of samples and marketing pieces on every product that we carry. I have been in the pharma industry for some time and worked for the competition but I have never seen or heard of a constant depletion of samples or marketing pieces. If each rep has a limit on how many samples they can order on a quarterly basis, plus the fact that we have open territories, than how the hell can we always be out of samples. First, we have no Zenpep samples, and now Pylera. WTF is going on? How are we supposed to market a new PE without any samples. Yes, I know we have the PI and detail aids that can't be left behind, but seriously...this is getting really old now. I'll tell you what! I'm going to take a little break from working and will resume once we get samples of Zenpep or Pylera. We started marketing Zenpep over 2 months ago and have no strong marketing pieces or any more samples. So, in reality, Aptalis is saving money on the production of samples, but also bonus payouts. First Ultrase and now Zenpep. Why are we carrying a PE?

Ditto on this post! This is getting really ridiculous. If there is such a money crunch WHY ARE WE HAVING BOGUS REGIONAL MEETINGS?????? I have not heard of one region yet that is having a serious meeting...when you ask about the itineraries it is all ballgames and fireworks or better yet the beach. How about upper management giving us some communication as to WTF they are doing? Don't hold us responsible for hitting numbers without the tools to even make decent calls.

Touche!! Ever since the loss of Ultrase, I have increasingly noticed the "don't give a crap" attitude of the employees. Not only did we lose our respect throughout the GI world, but we lost the confidence in our employer. It is one mistake after another and there seems to be no end in sight. Every change that has been made in the past year is the result of Ultrases' failure to be approved and relaunch. We would still be Axcan and not Aptalis, we sure as hell would not be marketing Zenpep or be one with Eurand. All of the employees that were laid off would still maintain their positions and the employee moral would be 100 times better than it is now. We might have received an additional pay raise, our bonus structure would have remained in tact and not been compromised because of the change, and we would probably have samples and marketing pieces available to us.
A lot of time and energy has been spent on the FDA denial of Ultrase and the acquisition of Eurand, but all of the small things that we need to grow the business have been forgotten and we have been left with the day to day burden of corporate mistakes. I understand that TPG has enough capital, which allows us to move on other products, but I can pretty much guarantee that the intent was not for another PE. So, again Ultrase bites us in the ass and has taken money out of our pockets and Axcan/Aptalis' reputation.

This company blows. The quotas are ridiculous. There are no samples and no marketing pieces. Every time there is any issue, the reps are told to just deal with it. Nothing is ever good enough to satisfy expectations. Corporate expects reps to work 10xs harder than anyone else in the company. And, this company no longer gives a shit about the patients. The reps are and have been the best thing this company has going for it and they repeatedly treat them like shit at every opportunity. If the economy wasn't so bad, there isn't a rep in this company that wouldn't walk away from this clusterf@ck.

I have to agree with this post. Our company is underperforming, yet instead of having all tools aligned and available for the reps, we have nothing. Backorders on Pylera and Zenpep. WTF. How am I supposed to stir up new business and sample these Dr's w/out samples? Detail aids just don't cut it and samples are a necessity if you want to increase business and attain additional market share. Please help us help you. Give us what we need. We are not asking for anything out of the ordinary, just what is needed to work effectively and efficiently.

Very well put. Too bad this administration is like a group of gorillas, playing with feces and masterbating all day. They know nothing about samples and marketing! Just look at the zone d's, neither one of them could sell even one pair sunglasses in Saudi Arabia. FV is looking out for his own pocket; he doesn't care one bit about us Americans, as long as he's able to drive his Porche to work each day (or when he feels like it) he's a happy [two-faced] man.

If the admin does nothing but play with feces and masterbate all day, where do I sign up? Those are my two favorite past times. And let FV do what he is going to do. That's was CEO's of any company are supposed to do. Drive profits and then collect bonus checks based on the company's performance. The Ultrase fiasco was a bit of a set back, so the acquisition of Eurand bought the employees another 5 years of employment. When the time is right, Aptalis will, again, go public and that is the time that FV will disappear with his millions of dollars. He is like any CEO and that is what they are paid to do, so stop complaining or become a CEO.

Interesting pints you make. Let's take a closer look at some fo them, shall we?
"... masterbate all day..." I am not sure what the word really means: master of bate maybe? As in somebody who is very good at bate? Or did you mean masturbate? In that case, why leave out the night time and do it only all day? It is much better to masturbate all day and all night.
"Drive profits and then collect bonus checks based on the company's performance." Company performance? What company? Axcan had a huge debt when it purchased Eurand, the performance was already pretty bad just from that alone. If the bonsu was based on that factor the CEO should have had to give some money back instead of getting a bonus.
"... the acquisition of Eurand bought the employees another 5 years of employment ..." You must be talking about the 40 or so folks in Italy who lost their job, or maybe the ones in France... oh... wait... I am sure you are talking about the ones who worked in the now-closed office in Yardley. If anything the downsizings were poorly planned and now Aptalis is scrambling to hire people in a hurry to get things done. Was that the plan? Let go of workses who know the products and the pipeline and soon after hire people who have no experience with the same products and pipeline. Excellent strategy if you want to get nothing done and accumulate some more debt on top of what you already have.
"He is like any CEO and that is what they are paid to do" I would suggest you use the word 'gready' between 'any' and 'CEO'. In this case is much more appropriate. As explained above, if performance was the factor for pay, this guys should give back some money instead of getting a bonus.

Are you masterbating as you write this post? Excellent use of quotations, but your spelling and word play used to form a sentence are way off. I don't think you made one great point, so just read the posts and comment to yourself. When the little red line appears under a word, the computer program is suggesting that a mistake has, in fact, been made and not that the computer is making the post more colorful and prettier for all viewers to see.
Basic rules of accounting for corporations. The less money that is made and shown on paper, the less you are taxed. If a company acquires another company with 12 different offices throughout the world, you close ones that are irrelevant to the business; Yardley and Italy. Change is never good, but people do eventually adjust, whether forced or accepting.
And I believe that you meant to use the word "greedy" when referencing the actions of the CEO's. And why would a CEO give back money. If you received a inflated bonus based on your work would you give it back? Probably not.

Thanks for being such a good secretary, maybe I will retain you so that you can check my spelling errors everytime I make a post like this.
pointing out typos to debate other people arguments is just nnot going to work. If you disagree with my points, just go one by one and put forth some counter-argument.
If you are easily distracted by typos and cannot figure out what the meaning of my post was, I feel sorry for you but I am glad you know how to use the automated spellchecker on this forums.

I tried, I really tried, but my handheld device cannot use your precious automated spell check.
So I think I will continue to make as many typos as I possibly can while typing with my thumbs on a simulated keyboard.
Now I am also curious how you reconcile your "saving jobs for 5 more years" with the "letting people go". Good luck with that.

Let's see what points you made here. You are telling one poster that spelling doesn't really make a difference yet your first paragraph "cleverly (used lightly)"breaks down the word - masturbate. You are an idiot.
Your second point about Axcan being in debt. I call BS. We are backed by a billion dollar holding company, so being in debt is not possible. And a CEO giving back money..that is a great point. Frank, why don't you give back money to a supposed "company in debt."
And the lay-offs occurred on Eurands side, but Axcan gets the blame since they were the acquiring company. Lay-offs happen and some Axcan employees were also affected, so it was not just the Eurand employees. When one company acquires another, lay-offs happen. If a company was not in dire need of being acquired, then there would be no need for an acquisition. Eurand was for sale because they were going down and Axcan saved them and some of their employees jobs. I have a feeling that you were one of the ones that lost his/her job. The way you spell, it might be a while before you find another.
And a greedy CEO. There is no such thing. Have you ever picked up a newspaper or watched TV. There is a weekly story about CEO's getting caught up in improper business transactions to benefit themselves. I am not saying that Frank is like that, but as a CEO, he has worked awfully hard to get where he is.
Please thoroughly read these , process what you have read, and when you are about to post a response, remember that there is nothing more to write.

I am sorry the joke about masturbating all day and all night was lost on you. Calling me an idiot does not make me so, but for sure debases all other arguments you put forth.
Looking at your other points:
You are misinformed. Eurand had no debt and was for sale because the investors had only committed to a short term (10 years) investment and the 10 years were up. Eurand was not going down, if anything it was going up. So before you call BS know the real facts.
On the other hand, the debt of Axcan was real, and the backing of a large investment institution does not mean that they were not losing money; just that somebody else was picking up the tab.
You are the one who mentioned 'saving jobs for 5 years' and still you cannot reconcile the lay0-ff with that. After the acquisition, all employees are part of the same corporation. Furthermore, form Frank's own mouth I was there when he said it), this was not an acquisition, but a merger of equals. Say it is not so, if you can. They had to cut jobs because the bankers giving the money for the acquisition demanded so, they had to restructure and reduce the size of the company in order for the bankers to fund the acquisition, this is not a secret, but apparently, you missed that part when you mouthed off that they jobs are safe for 5 more years.
On top of that 5 years, in the contest of the life of a large corporation, are no more than the blink of the eye.
In regard to my job, I will let you know when I am ready to look fopr a job that requires perfect spelling while using a hand-held device, I am sure you will be right there to receive my application.
In fewer words, all you did was calling me an idiot because of the typos and put forth arguments based on misinformation. All I get is that you are an internet tough guy and a bully.
Have a great day.

You must be the same guy who calls other people idiots, and since you cannot win the argument, you use insults to get the advantage.
If you have nothing to say or to contribute to the discussion, calling names just confirms that indeed you have nothing to say.
If I do get a life, I hope I do not get yours.

Everyone is an idiot. And we were not "misinformed." For the person who posted everything about the acquisitions...you are not an idiot but a major tool. You were in the meeting with Frank, but that does not mean you know anything about what is going on. You are simply a labor monkey with no sense of reality. It was an "acquisition" no matter what Frank states. He is trying to protect the well-being of the Eurand employees so they do not feel like they were unwanted. How much money did Eurand contribute to the joining of forces? None. Eurand was for sale and were purchased, so matter how you look at it, it was an acquisition. Why, then Mr. Labor Monkey, did so people people from Eurand get let go? Are we all equals in Aptalis?

Thank you, you made exactly my point... well... on pretty much everything.
It was not a amerger, but an acquisition. Job were not saved but indeed cut. And the CEO did what CEOs do, lie to get a fat bonus.
Sad, but true.
I would rather be a tool, than an agent of falsehood.
Thank you! Really.
