I am hearing rumors that all of the hospital teams are going to be downsized significantly in the next few months. This rumor is not just for CVIN, but MTIN too. Apparently these teams that focus solely on inpatient sales are no longer cost-effective and do not represent a significant percentages of sales to justify the current structure. I guess once again no one is safe in their job. Has anyone else heard this rumor?

Wow. You are a rocket scientist. C. V. already said there will be layoffs with no specifics. That means everyone is exposed.

Rocket scientist or not, it is falling apart and the Sanofi glue is not working. Say what you want, but there are just to many reps still with the company. CVIN, Multaq Team, MTIN, and creating an APIDRA team??? Really? Give APIDRA to a contract sales force and be done. At least 700 reps in the three divisions mentioned above can be let go tomorrow and they will not be missed. Yes, I am one of those reps. The gig is over. If you really listen to what Chirs V. is saying, then you have already figured it out. Sanofi CAN NOT continue business as usual and survive in this industry as it is now. The stock holders will not tolerate what this company will look like if it continues on its current path.

There are plenty of former hospital sales reps out there to pick up the hospital responsibility if these cuts come down. That's a big if because the morons in senior leadership still think more reps equals more sales. They have no idea how bad it is out here and how little we actually do each day because of terrible access.

There are conversations happening on what to do with the hospital team. No position or division in any pharmaceutical company is ever safe these days. Anyone hanging out for Genzyme products to sell migjt as well be waiting for Accomplia to come to market. I have spoken to no rep with Sanofi who has faith in the organization.

MTIN here, some consolidation of smaller territories is inevitable but they will never get rid of this team. We're too valuable to the future of the company.

You must be a management development candidate if they still have any of those. You have nothing of value to sell or add to the hospital setting. Nothing!!!!!! Get ready for a big cutback and don't ever think you are safe and secure!!!!! A pipe dream from years ago!!!!!!

One way to measure the value the company places on a sales team is to see how much money marketing gives a particular group. MTIN has gotten jack shit for promo dollars so what does that tell you? Hospital sales teams were needed for products like Lovenox but not insulin. The specialty and pc teams have the cash not hospital. I see them doing away with MTIN eventually because most of the business for the insulin market comes from outpatient and the difference between the two streams of revenue is staggering. If we need hospital coverage use your leftover CVIN reps.
