How much of a competitor is this new company from Germany?

not even close. They sell Equipment that Heska gave up on. If you know how bad Heska is you'll soon realize the shitiness of Scil.

What about their Focus 5 machines? Is that from re-branded Heska also?

As a veterinarian's viewpoint you have no worries, we had them come in for a demo and would not recommend to anyone. This does not mean I will ever use Idexx again either as I am tired of all the BS with the company. We currently use and will continue to use Abaxis, they are the best company out there to deal with and are competative on pricing.
