Will the proposed cuts go thru this time or will they pass another "doc fix" bill at the last minute to delay the big cuts another year?

Sustained Growth Rate is vitally important to us. If they go thru it means a 30% decrease in reimbursement. You need to know what you are slamming before you open your mouth.
They were averted at the last minute last year and if you don't think that slash in reimbursement would hurt, go get in another business.

You all are idiots. It doesn't just affect the MD it means the MCOT reimbursement decreases 30%, so , how does that help the company dummy!!!

Finally, someone who gets it. Just on the threat of this last year so many MDs opted out of Medicare ( that is they would no longer see Medicare pts ) that 22 million seniors were left without a physician to see. That number will more than double if this goes through.

They are averted every year dumb*ass. Last year was a 2% increase. The decrease if it does happen is to physicians not companies. Look it up.

You are wrong. You can't cherry pick which codes get the cuts and which don't it will decrease the reimbursement to all companies as well. If not and you are so sure provide documentation instead of "look it up". There is a reason the company is sinking it's because of brilliant people like you.

so if the physician bills the technical for telemetry they would be affected by the cut but if CN or some other company bills it they are not? How does that work? Would you have two different technical codes? One for MD and one for company? Awesome!!!! We are saved!!!!

So you have physicians billing the technical? Yeah, you are the smart one.

Yeah, just like the all the accounts CN has billing the technical and/or global on the event monitoring. Ever heard of a fee for service arrangement? There are not CPT codes for IDTFs and CPT codes for physicians. They are designed for both, so in theory you could have the same arrangement and there are some companies doing that now with MCT. So how and who decides which reimbursement to assign to who? And where does it say that the proposed cuts in reimbursement does not apply to IDTFs? That makes a lot of sense and I don't think the physician community would mind that at all. What if a physician owns their own holter equipment like CN, LW or Ecardio? Would the cuts not apply to them in that situation?
I think Teletubbies and Wiggles comes on at noon for you!!!

Wapner, 4 o'clock... Wapner 4 o'clock.
"Physician services" are what may be cut. Within the global codes is the physician service (pro fee) code. That is the one being threatened idiot.

Latest Doc Fix Would Lead to 37% Cut in 2014
Seemingly lost in the gunpowder clouds of partisan politics, once again, is the latest doc fix to the Medicare reimbursement crisis. The House bill passed today would essentially postpone a pay cut for 2 years and, instead, give physicians a 1% raise in both 2012 and 2013.
The bill requires Congress, in the meantime, to work with the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission, the Governmental Accountability Office, and the Department of Health and Human Services to replace Medicare's current method for setting physician reimbursement, called the sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula. This formula, approved by Congress in 1997, is responsible for triggering the massive pay cut set for 2012.
Policymakers will feel mounting pressure to devise a replacement: In 2014, the SGR formula will call for an estimated 37% cut in physician pay, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Still hasn't passed the Senate. May not. Physician pay= reimburseable CPT codes, how do you think physicians are paid? If these cuts ever go through companies like CN will not be exempt from the decline in reimbursement. I love how you totally copied the above information word for word. I read the same article.
Being called Rainman from an idiot like you is most certainly a compliment. Thanks Albert!!

Once again you show your superior intellect.
Why would anyone retype all that when you can just cut and paste?
Its a miracle!! All the cuts going on in medical the House now says lets give everyone a 1% raise for the next couple years. From Cardionet to Medtronic, we all get a raise for our services. Since they cant "cherry pick" codes they all go up 1%, even 93229!!!! I guess you have nothing to worry about now since no cuts and everything goes up 1%.
Speaking to a Ra-tard gives me a headache. I'm out!

then why even respond? Furthermore, the Senate has not passed it yet. More than likely they will. The responses from some of my colleagues now gives me a clear vision of why we have been in so much trouble. You are probably one of those who defended us paying physicians for the hook ups on MCOT, what's going on with that now? I will not even mention the other stuff that has happened. You are right, the increase or decrease, whatever it may be, will affect all the codes which apply to physicians ( services ) and IDTFs who bill within the same set of codes.
I may be mentally challenged but I am right and you are wrong. I bet you are just the pride and joy of your manager. I hope you are not in my division.

you are exactly right, the 93229 will go up about 1%, depending on if Highmark adjusts accordingly. All codes are impacted. The previous poster is correct. The increases and/or decreases impact all CPT codes. CPT does not have different categories based on whether you are an IDTF or physician group. They allow both parties to utilize.
You constant name calling indicates a feeling of insecurity about something. Your excessive use of the !!! also indicates a tendency be inadequate in some area of your job for you try to pronounce your authority on a subject matter which you really have a limited knowledge.
However, in you ill-fated attempt to prove someone wrong you actually provided a correct answer. Ironic.

Ironic.I am amazed you think that with all the cuts they are going to do an across the board 1% increase. I just don't understand why the would call it "doc fix" if it actually "fixes" everyone. Why would congress keep saying "physician pay", when it effects companies? 1,000 pages of cpt codes all go up 1%? Just to let you know there is more in this world than your IDTF and physicians. I guess Christmas may come early for thousands and thousands of companies, hospitals, and physicians.
Wonder where they are going to get the money to pay Cardionet more, education? Maybe the money we save on the war will be sent right to Cardionet, lifewatch, and ecardio. Makes sense, I never thought of it that way, thanks for clarifying we all get 1%.
