Why has the VA lab not integrated into Greensboro like everyone else? What gives??

Don't know for sure. Heard that the northern part of VA and that area has the work integrated through NC, but not Roanoke as of yet. If I had to guess, I would think that is on the way.

The challenge with fully integrating the Roanoke lab into GBO is that they still need to appease the Carilion Clinic folks. Still have alot of business coming out of those clinics. They have moved a lot of the work that lab was doing already. The HMG people were not real happy when the shift started. Solstas has got to streamline into GBO as much as possible in order to position to sell to Quest or LC.

Probably a fair point. Too much politics. POLITICS, POLITICS, POLITICS - hate it.

I wonder who will bid the highest for us....Quest or Lab Corp? Quest has already tried a few times so I guess it's just a waiting game. We're all just siting ducks. Wonder where all the DSM's will go? Too bad because most are good. It's the upper management folks that are worthless....they're getting directives from WCAS to beef up our sales so it'd be hard to believe they don't know what the long term plan is.

They are willing to do anything and everything to pump up sales and take business away from QD and LC even if it's not profitable on an account basis. Over 1300 phlebotomists in a 3000 person company and they aren't even considering pulling any in low revenue accounts.

Actually, I have been hearing more talk and even seeing some lower revenue accounts have their phleb hours reduced or pulled all together.
Very interesting time at good ole SLP. Anyone's guess on what happens next. KO fired, BS leaving...

30% of Solstas FT phlebotomists are in accounts that Quest, LabCorp or other established regional labs would not place a FT phlebotomist. Many are because something happened in the account to cause a revenue drop. Many more got placed because sales reps fudged the numbers on the front end. The sales rep in my area has made a good living off of taking Quest and Labcorp accounts by placing phlebotomists where they wouldn't. Some phlebotomists drawing 5-10 per day and are full time.

According to Huffy, the singular focus of the organization is "explosive growth". Translation = top line growth at all costs. Any type of arrangement is on the table. Compliance reports to Sales so the gray area is welcome territory.

Now I am confused, because SLP is trying to have the biggest sales possible (when 2011 was terrible) that means they are selling? So, if they weren't going to sell they would say not to sell so much? Huh?
