Yes, thank you. It was a great gesture. After a chaotic year the extra week to rest, regroup and spend time with family is much appreciated. I know most pharma companies do this already I hope it's something we continue.

Great gesture? Lets not get too crazy here. Do you think for a minute that if the AbbVie deal didn't fall through they would have offered this up? Flemming and his marauding crew were caught with their pants down after they tried to sell off the farm. They needed a quick PR stunt to "keep the faith" of those they turned their backs on (remember the last minute change in severance)

Nothing this crew doers is without reason or an anterior motive behind it. It's engrained in everything they do. From IC, to vacation days, to even what type of seating they have at national meetings. there's a purpose behind it all.

Here's how we should view this: "Thank you Shire for approving the extra days off that we earned after we grew this company to what it is (was) and you so callously dismantled in less than a year, all in an effort to save face!"

    Signed,
    Not Impressed

That was one of the benefits of being purchased by Abbvie. They already get the week between Christmas and New years off. As well as, Pfizer, Glaxo, Astra Zen, BMS and every other pharma company. We use to have other perks of being a small pharma company but since we are now moving to big pharma mentality we sure as hell should get big pharma benefits.

this week off WAS because of AbbVie. The transition timeline showed this week would be given off to align with AbbVie policies. Also, the holiday parties that were thrown last week were actually recycled AbbVie deal close parties. Don't think for one minute that Flemming, Ginger, or any other leader thought these up because they care about you. These are merely regifted AbbVie "benefits".

These people are soulless. Not one ethic or morale fiber between all of them.
