Where have you been? The FDA shut down the Puerto Rico manufacturing plant for several months due to manufacturing issues with Paxil. Chris Viebacher runs the company you moron.

Couldn't agree more.
Think about it, It is December 23rd and we currently are totally out of stock or backordered on some or most strengths of the following: Paxil CR, Paxil IR (not that it matters), Avandamet, Coreg and recently I had a pharmacy tell me of out of stock with Avandia (yet to confirm). The first 4 are definite and confirmed by the CRC.
Not only should somebody lose their job, but there is no fucking way Avandaryl should be launched until the plant problem in PR is fixed. (YES I KNOW AVANDARYL IS BEING MADE IN NORTH CAROLINA) but do you think this won't be the first question our customers ask?

Heard about the Coreg shortage from one of my counterparts while I'm on vacation. Avandia 4mg too! Great, just great. How many times will GSK shoot themselves in the foot? I know we're all in the same boat when it comes to rankings, and in some ways payout, but this is getting ridiculous. Now they are messing with my money! Our region has been hit harder than others that I know of, and for longer as in the case of Avandamet. I never missed the Diabetes goal in 5 quarters, and I miss it because of all the BS with Avandamet.

Hey Pernock and Collier. Why don't you do ride-alongs and see just how pissed off the prescribers are? It's my reputation on the line when you don't tell us all the facts around the stocking situation. I can't even look my customers in the eye anymore.

What makes you think the plant is not working? This happens every year between 12/15 and 12/31...the plant has a mysterious inability to produce product(s). Have you every asked why it doesn't happen at other times of the year? Could they be holding on revenue that they wish to book in 2006? I guess all the controls put in place by Sorbaines-Oxley on our corporate accounting methadology can not control our manipulation of our balance sheets that happen through pre-planned eruptions in our supply chain.

I've been withn GSK for over 7 years and I believe that GSK is a fair, and honest company but I have never been more disappointed than I am now.
What have I been doing over my break? I have answerred at least 4 calls from customers and talked to 5 pharmacies as well as given out the drop shipment number for Coreg.
WHY? Well...you guessed it.

I am a loyal GSK employee but I am tired of explaining why patient can't get Coreg or Avandamet. I thought I was paid to educate physicians so patients can Live well, live longer or whatever they say our company motto is... sorry my phone just rang it is another Cardiology office!!!

So let me understand your logic in going out to do our job. Our job is to create demand for our products. I don't know about you, but I've done my job. Well enough in fact to have many of my customers writing Coreg and Avandia at a much higher market share than the national or regional share with growth above the goals for the past 5 quarters. Have I done my job in your opinion?

Now that those customers have created a real habit in writing our products for the benefit of their patients, they can no longer get the prescriptions filled. Doesn't matter how good a product is if the patient can't take the pill, so they have started writing more Toprol XL and Actos, and are now pissed at me and GSK for making them look stupid to their patients. They don't need that headache when they are being reimbursed less and less for an office visit.

Do I make the pills? Do I deliver them to the wholesalers? Do I deliver it to the retail pharmacies? No. No. No. So who isn't doing their job?

We have a right to be disappointed in GSK for not standing by us. If they really wanted to do the right thing, they should write a Dear Dr. and Dear Pharmacist letter telling them the situation. GSK needs to take the heat so that we still have credibility in the eyes of the customer. Instead we keep going in and assuring our customer that there is only spotty outages. Yeah right!
