View Full Version : How come TV or the Movies don't have plot lines about drug reps?

Forget Michael Moore's "sicko" he's working on, or that former rep that is "getting even" with the pharmaceutical industry with her Side Effects movie.

Have there ever been movies or TV shows where the main character was a drug rep? I cannot think of one. I remember an episode of ER once, where Dr. Ross (george clooney) slept with a rep that was visiting the ER, but she was only a guest character for a couple of episodes.
TV and Movies do occupations for main characters on just about every career but ours! It's about time a drama/comedy is made in Hollywood and the main character gets to be a drug rep!

Because being a drug rep is is not really that interesting, you take food to people (doctors and staff) and memorize speeches for money. it's that simple.

Oh whatever. Do you think that your average lawyer's life is anything as glamorous and exciting as what they portray in the movies? Of course not. But it's a career that they can Grishamize in order to make you think that every case that a lawyer gets handed to him is the next OJ Simpson trial (and we all saw how boring THAT was when it played out in the courtroom).

Because "Johnny Whitebread, the crazed Pharma Rep from Novartis" just doesnt have the ring of "Sweeny Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street".

Ned Flanders was a rep before he decided to leave his pharmaceutical career to open the Leftorium at Springfield Mall.

Scrubs had a few episodes with Heather Locklear as the rep doing her dinner programs in what was meant to be stereotypical but was spot on.

We drug reps are like rock stars! We are all beautiful and young just like everyone in Hollywood. The only difference is that most drug reps are conservatives, and the Hollywood people are all liberals.

Instead of 101 sexiest celebrities on E!, they need to have a show called, "101 sexiest drug reps"

I've said it a hundred times, most of the cunts in this industry have starry eyes, but couldn't or didn't try to make it in Hollywood, so they became drug reps.
