Honestly there aren't 10 reasons. Are there 10 reasons to use one product over another ever? There are 2 or 3 good reasons which my providers seem pretty interested in so I'm still pretty fired up about competing against Lantus. Please, we're not selling Animal vs. Analog here. The differences, while discernable, are definitely a bit more subtle.

Oy. You are an embarassment to the industry. And to Novo.
There are easily 10 reasons - more, really - to use one product over another. Get a grip and understand what you are selling, dear.
You must be a newbie. I get it now...

Hey dipshit, ever sell an ARB, or a PPI, or an SSRI, or a pain med? True differences, not bullshit marketing crap? 2 or 3 valid differences would make me very happy in those markets. 10 real reasons between Protonix, Nexium and Prevacid? Are you kidding? 10 real reasons to choose between Benicar and Diovan? Oh and it's better with Insulin? No differences between Humalog and Novolog but we are still gaining market share. Oh and I'm not a newbie dear. Anyone who has ever really sold anything knows that it's me and to a lesser degree my products/company that the docs buying anyways.

"...still gaining market share" on Humalog. Oh, boy. Wasn't Novolog launched 4 1/2 years ago? And still trying to gain on ELI? How pathetic.
Recall how Lantus took the industry by storm. Novo could stressed and stressed that Lantus wasn't much different than NPH, but Novo wasn't prepared. No surprise there.
You need to get ready for major disappointment with Levemir. First, why did Novo name their new insulin with the first letter "L?" Doesn't that imply a Lilly product? How stupid!
And, it's too late to the market. Lantus has done a masterful job of marketing, pricing and promoting Lantus. It's too late for us. Waaaaaahhhhh!

levimir = second generation NPH- why would anyone use this shit?
Anonymous

What'll happen is Novo will buy the Lantus business from a few accounts then try to ride the heals of those successes. In the end. Levemir will end up just like Novolog: a second to the market, second rate insulin.
It's marketing and business as usual at Novo.

My manager told me that at the POA they are going to announce we won't launch Levimer until July. Anybody else hear this? That sucks!

If there is any truth to that, then it will be the biggest embarassment for NN.

Well, maybe the 20th biggest embarassment at Novo.

Are all these posts just the same person talking to themself? Sure, many docs will try Levemir....and many will end up loving it. If not for efficacious reasons, at least due to relationships. Having said that, not ALL docs will write Levemir ALL the time...but there will be a certain number of docs that will write it because of the fact they are mad at SA for monopolizing the market while they could. Do I blame them? Hell no. But it's our turn now, and we will ride this wave while we can...and you shouldn't blame us for that. If you slam Levemir you will look foolish and desperate. Either way, you're fixing to lose some serious market share.

First Novo never tried to sell NPH against lantus. GIVE me a break. Second, why dont you go back to your own board. No one is any better when there is only 1 drug of its kind on the market. You cant compare NPH to lantus. Analogs are superior. Nothing more needs to be said. Whether lantus or levemir is better is for each doc and each patient to decide. At least they now have a choice.

We are going to lose market share???? Are you kidding me??? Levemir has been in Europe for a while now and it has gained market share in one country, Denmark!!! Your home base where you can use your Heated KY and grab your ankles for you docs, just liked the girls in North Dallas, one of which got fired from Aventis!!!! Bring it on, "Glorified NPH", cant wait for a little compeititon, Byetta sucks and so will you!!!

amen brother!!!!!!!! 1st question for the misguided Novo rep at the back of the room. Where in my statement did you read that I was comparing NPH to Lantus? My friend I'm comparing NPH to Levemir. Lantus was and still is the only true qd basal. And by the way they will have a choice and sure as hell wont be levemir!

Maybe you need to go find and read the Riddle study you(Lantus) have a higher weight gain then NPH Levemir has less then NPH therefore you have a weight problem oh by the way you burn baby burn (PH4)

Nobody gives a fuck about weight gain. It's about three things: Price, price and price. Novo marketing and pricing brain surgeons have no intention of "giving away" Levemir.
Read: We are fucked!!!

If SA is not scared, why are they on this board? It's pretty obvious. Run, SA, run.....oh, and one poster was right, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell docs that Levemir is NPH. That would be great.

there has to be a coule of uncontrolled type 1s that nothing else works for, or some whores posing as endos who still care more about getting your money than they do their patients

Lack of weight gain, is that what you plan on selling this piece of shit with???? keep in mind Einstein we are treating the diabeties first, oh ya you have no efficacy data, found one of your sales pieces today, one of my endos laughed because it showed zero information on how this piece of shit actually works on patients. Great marketing run forest run!!!!!

How can you say that Know one cares about weight gain you must not work or know very little about the insulin you are trying to sale. By the way go ask Lilly about price and how does 3rd tier feel:)

Nice try, dipshit. THERE ARE NO DETAIL PIECES! This is a pre-launch. All we have is the Package Insert. Oh, I keep forgetting, your from S-A. You don't know what a package insert is. You've never seen one, much less, detailed a physician from one. The PI is where REAL selling happens! Too bad you've never been trained on Clinical Data! I know, it's tough trying to keep up with the big boys. Go back home and crawl back in bed.

Dont know how to use clinical data huh??? Isnt most of Novo's theoretical??? Whats wrong, couldnt get Raskin to find something decent in your products. Oh thats right, he writes a majority Lantus!!!! By the way, your PI is a great selling piece! I love the graph comparing Shitamir to NPH, in fact, it shows the Doc that you are expensive NPH. More predicatble, the only thing more predictable than Shitamir is your reps sucking the Docs dick for business!!! Lilly is wooping your ass and Sanofi is just plain cleaning house. Keep talking, thats all you have left THEORETICALLY!!!!!!

Shitamir - o.k., now THAT is funny. Thanks for a good laugh, man. I agree with you and I work here. Now every time I talk to a doctor about this, I'm going to be thinking "Shitamir" in my head. I just hope I don't do it in front of my manager!
