So, I have now seen 2 Flonase commercials, both with the cheesy 1950's Humphrey Bogart-like theme.
The first compares Flonase to 2 prescription anthistamines (Zyrtec and Allegra) and 1 OTC (Claritin). How many monkeys in your marketing department did it take to make a commercial comparing your drug to other drugs not even in the same class? Yes, all treat Allergic Rhinitis, but one treats late-phase symptoms while the others treat early-phase symptoms. The drugs are not even in the same market basket. This seems completely ignorant to me, maybe you all can shed some light on it for me.
The next has the same theme, but barely even mentions what disease state and symptoms Flonase is for. One of the worst consumer product commercials I have ever seen. I think showing the monkeys from your marketing department scratching their asses and picking bugs off each other, and then cut to your product name would have about the same effect.
I'm interested to hear viewpoints from those of you at GSK.

Actually, I think the original post was great and very true. What's wrong, you can't handle the truth you prick.

So typical of the types that stick up for this inept excuse for a pharma company. No substance, just invective. http://www.cafepharma.com/ubbthreads/images//graemlins/grin.gif

typical GSK jackass thinks everyone is jealous of him! Suck a fart out of my ass, douchebag. By the way, you didn't answer my question, I was actually looking for intelligent responses, like maybe there is something behind the message that I just don't see, but I expected to get mostly unintelligent, completely devoid of thought responses like yours, based on the GSK reps that I have met. How is your market share compared to Zyrtec, oh that's right, they're not even in the same drug class. let alone market basket. Nice work, marketing team, really top-notch work!

[/ QUOTE ] Not sure the exact reason this approach was chosen but my guess would be that it works. I think Flonase sales are in the billion dollar per year range, so they must be doing something right.
Perhaps that is in spite of the poorly done, low budget, cheesy ad campaign. I suppose if you wer ein charge Flonase would be a 2 billion dollar drug http://www.cafepharma.com/ubbthreads/images//graemlins/wink.gif

Wow, how can I every compete with your superior intellect? Do you ever read your posts before you submit them? How did you get a job at GSK when you are completely incapable of engaging in intelligent conversation. Seems to me like your arsenal consists of a limited number of expletives and a lot of pent-up anger. Maybe you should take some Flonase, I heard the next commercial compares Flonase to Lexapro, Zoloft, Wellbutrin, etc. Have a nice day, Mr. Massengill.

Hmm. Still no substance, but the invective is toned down to merely suggesting that I am a "crybaby."
Well, my dad can beat up your dad, poopy-pants.
Now was that a more acceptable level of discourse for you? http://www.cafepharma.com/ubbthreads/images//graemlins/grin.gif

Ha Ha, FYI info Flonase is a nasal spray for allergies, not an anti-invective. Start crying Mr. Fancy Words.

Anti-"invective"! Finally, some creativity!
Perhaps if it were an anti-"invective" you could use it. Then you might be capable of actually explaining the point of the advertisements mentioned above.
Is it supposed to remind viewers of the movie "Casablanca"? Now there's a cultural reference that will resonate with the 20 - 60 year old crowd! A movie filmed in 1942.....
Perfect. http://www.cafepharma.com/ubbthreads/images//graemlins/crazy.gif
Oh, and FYI, "FYI" stands for "For Your Information", so there's no need to say "FYI info", because then you are using the word information twice.
And I'm well aware of what Flonase is.
