Got my new catalog today. If you are let go, is the account forfeited? Not that I earned many points anyway......

I would say screw it you have to pay taxes on it if you order something. comes out on your paycheck.

No. You get taxed when they actually 'award' the points; usually in the same pay period that they are added to your account. No further taxes are collected after that.

Admittedly, I was bummed when I realized that years ago.

You get taxed but extra money is also included in your check to cover the tax that you have to pay on the value of the points. These net each other out or at least virtually net each other out. It's called grossing up your pay.

Also the perq points are always yours. The program is managed by a separate company which holds your points until you redeem them.
