View Full Version : Question for Glaxo Reps

Alot of reps that I know seem to be going over to Glaxo. Out of all the other companies, this one seems to pay more. I work with another pharm co. and I was just wanting to know your thoughts. I am sure that you guys still have issues just like any other company, however, you guys are glorified with the pay you give. Any opinions?

The pay is the same with any other BP company. the thing here is that GSK has a deep and ridiculously wide pipeline. that means more stuff to sell and that translates to stable long term jobs. that's why people are flocking in from all over.

Could you please fill me in on this great pipeline?

Your best bet is trying to get into the HIV division. I think you will find it quite challanging, yet rewarding.

there are plenty of open territories cause everyone hates the abusive management, no pipeline and overall ugly environment.

You have to wonder why they are so GSK opennings to fill and why they are offering good money. It's because the company sucks and management is a nightmare! Stay away from GSK!

The G side of GSK is a very good company; the SK side of GSK is a very troubled company. Most of the reps are unhappy and leaving in record numbers; 7 reps left in Milwaukee due to the DSM. Stay away from SK unless you are a masochist who loves working at night, too.

The HIV division is the worst at GSK! It is challenging all right, because the products are shitty. Old drugs repackaged as new. Doctors know it, and don't prescribe them. We have a Nazi as the region head, and too many butt kissing DMs that bow down to him. We are getting our asses kicked by Gilead, BMS, and Abbott. GSK has some decent divisions, but HIV is the bottom of the barrel. 5-10 years ago, it was a different story, though; much better back then. Now it has degenerated into robotic dipshit BS. Whoever posted the above response is obviously not into this division. check the post that is named "Life as an HIV rep at GSK' and you will get the picture even clearer

Maybe there are small areas of the country where the G side is still okay, but I find it hard to believe. South Florida on the G side is an awful place to be.

[/ QUOTE ]there's no doubt the SK side is the worst. it's a nightmare. the infamous south florida, miami-ft.lauderdale gang of leo scarface gonzalez, vinny the knife botta & the hitman tony soprano bernardini, who moved to oncology, were all SK. SK is full of gansters like this but south florida is a cesspool.

love the company, hate the sales force. I came from an inbuilding position to sales for 2 years and now am working back in side. It seems that the managers only look out for themselves and don't truly care about you. I guess because managers inside are getting paid the same no matter what, they actually care about you. If you're on top of the charts, you're the best thing since sliced bread, but when you're down they won't get off your ass. You're not even doing anything differently. Have to be a good rep and most important be in a good territory that allows you to be a good rep

You need psychiatric help...but perhaps this website is all that is keeping you out of a institution...you think you are sooo funny, but if fact, you are just plain sick.

The "G" side of GSK was great at one time--but it has now been infected with the ugly, nasty, negative, micro-managed "SK side. Neither one is any good--their are some much better pharma or medical jobs that pay as well of better!

this is a great company with a strong pipeline. not perfect. with 9k reps, you are going to have some disgruntled people. for the most part, if things are broken, they get fixed. If you are innefective or dont want to work, you will be unhappy here. otherwise, its game on!

avoid S. Florida and avoid the HIV division and you should be OK, i think.

SKB saved the Glaxo side.
OK, here we go:
Advair, Flonase, Imitrex, Wellbutrin XL, Valtrex and I think Zofran all did a billion or more last year (dont know about the HIV meds).
SKB side can't sell their meds because they can't manufacture them.
Go suck on some Tagamet.

These greedy bastards act like we are going out of business. Good is never good enough for their personal savings accounts.

Thanks for the info. I am sure all of those HIV meds came from the SKB side. NOT!!!
