Small pharma to Lilly-was it a good choice for you?

I've heard horror stories from reps going from small to big pharma. Has anyone done it who would share a balanced opinion in general or their experience?

I started with old Astra (before AZ) when we had only 3 reps in a territory all selling different products. I stayed through the expansion and watched the company grow to 10-11 reps in a territory, tons of fighting and not much time with Dr.'s due to "Share of Voice" overload. I left AZ to go to Lilly hospital, had a great manager and no partners so I enjoyed it but watched the PC reps and saw the same thing that was going on at AZ. I am now with a small biotech company, once again no partners and I now sell novel products. I would probably leave the industry before I would go back to big pharma except for maybe a hospital/oncology position. Good luck.

Every person that ever posts how they went from big pharma to a small biotech and says it's great never seems to mention the name of the company they went to. Why is that?
