No, but i do see where they lie. They say it works in about a month. Any good doc knows it's a crap drug. it's their DTC advertising.

Yes, losing scripts every day. The truth is it doesn't work as well as alpha blockers only a 3 point improvement in IPSS scores over the course of a year

[/ QUOTE ] Duh, no kidding, why don't you tell your docs, not us. If they're RXing instead of Flomax it's because of mgd care, once again, we're losing, big time!

How could it be to managed care, we have covg on 98% of the formularies.

Urox is gaining share in my territory as well. Any clever ways to sell against it?

Urox only is gaining share in areas where it has preferential coverage. It is not gaining share when it has equal coverage. And to the person above who quoted 98% coverage, that does not mean lowest branded copay.

Avodart doesn't treat symptoms any better than Flomax. In fact, it takes about 6 months to provide sustained symptom relief. But, it reduces acute urinary retention and surgeries. Look in their PI-it has those indications. Many Urologists and PCP's are using both Avodart and an alpha blocker and after 6 months removing the alpha blocker. Look at GSK's pipeline-they are working on a 5a reductase + alpha blocker combination. My big Uro's are trending towards combining the two in order to reduce AUR and surgery.

Uros make big $$ doing surgery so don't think they are going to stop using flomax as monotherapy. It may not be ethical but they want their $$$

Are the Uros having success with exclusively using Avodart after 6 months of combination (Flo and Avo)? Or do they tell you that they are forced to go back to Flo and Avo? What are teh chances?

You idiots, we are launching a flomax + avodart combination with GSK in 2007.

where did this info come from? If we were involved in any of these clinical trials, then the BI name would have been mentioned. post an article that confirms this rumor

BI doesn't have to post shit, they are privately held remember? They don't have to tell the public anything with regards to financial investments.

I find it hard to believe that the name wouldn't come up in an article about the GSK trials. If it didn't, then where did you get your info?

[/ QUOTE ]This will be a huge shock to you guys, but around the world, they co promote with the same companies they compete with in the US, they're all in bed together, wake up!

That bad news is that BI doesn't even own the rights to Flo. It belongs to Astelles. If Flomax combined with Avodart is in clinical trials, then I'd be real worried.
Why would they need BI? Too many reps. GSK and Astelles would co-promote it along with Vesicare.
