I swear, this is really getting ridiculous. Between RLS training (and we have not even officially gotten the indication yet...remeber Duloxetine?) and all the other endless BS things we have to do, on average how much time do you spend doing BI work each night or on weekends?

For me, honestly probably 2 hours per night.

[/ QUOTE ] You may want to contact that lawyer who filed a class action overtime lawsuit on behalf of another drug company's reps.

Honestly, what are your number of hours in the field each week?

[/ QUOTE ]Are you counting the worthless meetings, Porpoise exercises, tests for BS, "speakers programs" and mandatory breakfasts, lunches and/or dinners with the customers? Don't even go there, we are OVER worked and UNDER paid!

I have been asked to sign a background release. Is that standard early in the process, or am I likely to get an offer.

Due to the fact that I'm on my computer an hour a night, that cuts in to the normal 3 hrs a day I get to spend with my family. Great work/life balance BI! How can you tell us in writing we have to work 8 hours but be in the field from 8-5. HELLO, that is 9 hours, especially if you have a lunch that day. Why not come with a flex choice where you can work 8-4 or 9-5 so nobody feels guilty. Now there's a thought!!!!

I have a thought for everyone.
If you do not like your job, QUIT!
Seriously, there are people waiting to get your job.
I rarely ever put more than 45 hours in a week. I think I get paid pretty good for what I have to do. The actual work is pathetically easy as well.

Why do you want to give money to a lawyer? You are a salaried, exempt employee. There is no overtime pay.

Thank you for the advice. Many of us are looking to get out, but thanks for the suggestion anyway. Someone can have my job once I have another.

Does sitting in a cubicle for 40 hours at 1/2 your salary sound good?

I am not in a cubicle.
All you twits need to quit reading People magazine when you are waiting to see a doctor and start doing your paperwork. I rarely have to do any of it once I get home because it is done.

Nope, I am a rep. Have any of you complainers ever had a real sales job that required extended travel, cold calling, getting a signature to buy the product, etc. Pharma is really easy. Don't believe me? Quit and take another job and you will see for yourself.

[/ QUOTE ]You attitude is exactly what is wrong with BI mgmt. They have an adversarial tone to the reps, instead of recognizing that things could be better and creating an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork, they treat you as children with them in the dictatorial parent role, no matter how much experience, knowledge or competence you have, you will still be treated as a 1st year nobody, who must be threatened, bullied, and watched constantly, to make sure the greedy Germans are getting their moneysworth! Yes, everyone who dares to complain should just leave, that's the answer!

AHH HAA, You are the jerk in the pod who does not enter the programs, get chosen to lead team matrix, asked to do excel speadsheets on all of your top 20 to track writing habits, told to type up business plans for the whole team around the "Spiriva Initiative" or asked to call on the hospitals that the insitution reps have not been assigned. Yeah I know you. Your manager does not give you those jobs because you do a half ass job for everything.

He's right. If you think you're going to find something better, QUIT! Yes, there is definitely ALOT more BS we have to do these days, but it still beats the hell out of digging ditches for $10/hr. Ask someone who does it! You sound like a spoiled WINER! QUIT! PLEASE! No, really...
