when osi geared up for tarceva in '03 they used a contract sales organization for reps in mid-size city markets, while hiring 'normal' reps for the major metro markets. the cso reps were on for a year and had the option to interview to join osi if the company wanted to keep them.

i dont know who in their right mind came up with this sales force model- can you imagine the morale between the 'real' reps and the 2nd tier reps?? especially when options were on the table- the real reps got em and the cso reps didnt.

this was going on before tarceva was even fda approved- why would anyone opt to join the cso side?
