View Full Version : dinner program

I am a nurse practitioner in upstate, NY. I attended a dinner program for WC last night. I would like to say that the data presented was very good, and made a lot of sense. I was very upset that this nice program was ruined by the sales rep sparking negative discussions about other products, and going through lawsuits, etc. This completely ruined the crdeibility of the program, and the rep. I used to be a sales rep, and always felt that type of sell to be unprofessional.

You should contact the company as opposed to discussing these things on this board.

Im a former rep who did very well at WC
In a typical arrogant medical professional tone, you state that the credibility in a dinner program was ruined. WHAT a joke!!
the fact that all we would hear was "my patients come in asking for this product or that product" over and over.
and what did you mindless individuals do??
Prescribed "Ortho' products, "Berlex" products etc.
Well I hope you get sued just once instead of "maybe" listening to another point of view on a product that has been around for 20 to 30 yrs.
O, and another thing, I see that your fat ass decided who would pay for dinner that night. (WC)
What did you really expect from a dinner program from a company with products older than sand? New Information?
Take Monday off to examine your "credible, unbiased profession" and stick to answering phones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm very tired of this 'you can't talk about the competition' opinion. Thats the job. If you think pharmaceuticals are somehow 'holy' or untouchable then there shouldn't be DTC, etc. If you, as a rep, are factual, ie., 1) there IS a lawsuit vs. Berlex for patent infringement, 2) the ratio of DRSP to EE DID change, making a progestational pill even moreso, 3) they have little to no DATA to show any benefits, 4) they copied our colors, 5) 25mg equiv. of spiranolactone is a subclinical dose and is therefore irrrelevant, 6) who cares about half-life?, then whats the problem?
Can't you handle the truth?

Truth:
Loestrin is more Androgenoc than OVCON! Ouch Why would we copy your colors? We have the more popular products and better trained salesforce. We would have no reason to do this. For you, however, this would result in added exposure. I would not be surprised if we changed our colors a few months down the road.
No DATA? Please Our pivotal trial has twice as many women and lasted twice as long. Yaz showed better efficacy. A new study is released EVERY MONTH showing the benefits of DRSP. The docs know this. They can find this out by puling up a journal search online. A wealth of informaion. However, pulling up a search on norethindrone acetate. Not many studies, and NO BENEFITS.
Finally, you don' think 1/2 life is important because you do not clinically understand. You are buying into your company gargage, but 1/2 life will prove Yaz superior, along with benefits of drsp.
Go to sleep WC. Do your dinners. You have never been successful at increasing business and this will never change. You are second rate company with poor reps. You know it

Go F your self Berlex. And Wyeth too. You dipshits dont understand - we in a sense want to be a second rate company. Less visibility, support the underdog, less liability for investors - whereas Wyeth is getting sued by 5000 chicks for Prempro - and Berlex is probably getting sued for something.
Berlex rep - you think you are beating us in marketshare and taking our bonuses? Chances are if any given rep has 5% marketshare they are probably making more money in a year than you can in two. Suck on that.

The poster talking about the 5% marketshare makes the bet point. Now, I do not work for WC, but have been in the industry for a long time (probably too long). From what I've seen of your company, many of the reps are new to the industry. You will all soon realize, it is not you against Berlex, Wyeth, Ortho, etc. It is you against whatever it is in your bonus plan that will make you money. Thus, if you are ranked, it is you against others in your company. This industry is chaotic, and they way things are nationally, layoffs have been abundant. If you are able to sell, your "competitors" can respect you, even when you are kicking their asses. However, if you are labeled as an unethical rep, it becomes hard passing along the old resume to others. Most of you will probable come at me with petty bullshit, but it makes no difference to me. I have made a lot of money in this industry, and have won many trips. I know that if one day my company lays off (probably because I'm at the top of the pay scale), I will be able to find work immediately.
I also have a big penis, so that keeps me happy

#1 No one cares on how much one makes or how much success one has had (Join the club)
#2 again Im a former WC rep that stated the lack of credibility that comes from doctors and NP's with regard to unbiased opinions.
#3 Lawsuits are fact, Patients experiencing medical problems from certain DTC products are fact
Where does the unprofessionalism play a part when reminding doctors of this point??
What really does a NP expect at a dinner program other than feeding her fat ass and acting important??
Don't attend these programs in the future with any company.
This business is all about sales, It's not a charity! It's no different than the auto industry, advertising industry or any other that entertains clients.
I left selling primary care birth control for the 24 yr old who just graduated college.
I suggest that your arrogant mentality find a job in used car sales or real estate.....

It is humorous that you referenced the selling of automobiles. I have heard from many customers, and other reps that Warner Chilcott employs people with that used-car salesman, slimy exterior. Look at the stock, it hasn't been very successful. About 7 companies wanted to purchase Berlex this year, and take a look at what their trading at. (SHR) I think the NP that was brave enough to post on here, and compliment your companies data shouldn't be reamed out. Maybe if WC listened to what it's customers wanted, they would can all those used care salestrash reps.

Yeah, look at our stock..........look real hard, dipshit, 'cause right now we don't have any!
But, in the past, our stock did just fine! Our stock started in 1997 at about $4 a share and we sold out in 2005 at about $54. We'll be going public again soon....the sooner the better. You can say a lot about WC, but stock price is one point you'll be wrong on. RB knows the market!!

I think the Berlex reps should be talking about how you're being sued by the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION for unethical practices!!! I don't the docs would be surprised considering how the reps conduct themselves in the field.

STATES SUE TO STOP ANTI-GENERIC DRUG COLLUSION
Lawsuit Alleges Companies’ Agreement Precluded Competition for Oral Contraceptive
The State of New York, 20 other states and the District of Columbia today sued Warner Chilcott Corporation ("Warner Chilcott") and several affiliates and Barr Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ("Barr") for entering into an agreement that blocked generic competition for Warner Chilcott’s oral contraceptive Ovcon. The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Washington, D.C. along with a similar lawsuit by the Federal Trade Commission, alleges that Warner Chilcott paid Barr $20 million to keep Barr from marketing a generic version of Ovcon. The lawsuit seeks injunctive relief, other equitable relief, and monetary penalties.
Ovcon has been sold in the United States as a safe and effective oral contraceptive pill since 1976. Since early 2000, Warner Chilcott has been the exclusive U.S. distributor of Ovcon. The company reported $72 million in revenues generated from Ovcon in fiscal year 2004.
In September 2001, Barr filed applications with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) applications to allow Barr to bring a generic version of Ovcon to market. By mid-2003, it appeared that Barr would launch the generic within the next few months. In September 2003, Warner Chilcott and Barr entered into a letter of intent to negotiate an agreement that would keep Barr’s generic product off the market.
The states allege that, in an effort to forestall lower cost generic competition to Ovcon, Warner Chilcott began to develop a chewable, patented form of Ovcon. Once chewable Ovcon was introduced, Warner Chilcott planned to try to switch Ovcon users to the chewable version, and to stop marketing regular Ovcon, thereby extending Warner Chilcott’s monopoly. To achieve this result, however, Warner Chilcott had to make sure that no generic form of Ovcon came to market before its chewable version was available. Otherwise, users would likely switch to the lower cost generic first.
Under the agreement, signed in March 2004, Warner Chilcott paid Barr $1 million in exchange for an option to acquire an exclusive license to market a generic substitute for Ovcon in the event that the FDA approved Barr’s applications. Under the agreement, which called for an exclusive five year license and a non-exclusive license for the following five years, Barr agreed to supply the product to Warner Chilcott at twice Barr’s manufacturing cost.
The FDA approved Barr’s generic Ovcon in April 2004. Shortly thereafter, Warner Chilcott exercised its option, paying Barr $19 million. As a result, consumers and others have been deprived of a lower-priced generic version to Ovcon since May 2004. Meanwhile, Warner Chilcott has continued to develop its chewable Ovcon, which it expects to launch in early 2006.
Other than new York, other states joining the lawsuit include: Colorado, Virginia, Maryland, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina and Texas. The District of Columbia is also a plaintiff in the lawsuit.
The case is being handled by Assistant Attorneys General Elinor Hoffmann and Margaret Martin in the New York State Attorney General’s Antitrust Bureau, under the supervision of Bureau Chief Jay Himes. Copies of the complaint can be found on the New York Attorney General’s website at: www.oag.state.ny.us. (http://www.oag.state.ny.us.)

What a loser!!!!!!! Trying to compare Ovcon with Loestrin24! The issue with Ovcon is obsolete..........Try focusing on the fact that Berlex INFRINGED upon a patent, and that Berlex is soooo pathetic as to steal our colors....Get a life, and realize that YAZ is "Wannabee" product!

Find any pharma company NOT being sued. Now That would be a story!
The point here is relevance. The lawsuit copied above vs. WC is a farce as the deal was approved BY the FDA completely at the time. The argument that somehow there is an anti-trust violation or lack of competition in the OC market because there is no generic OVCON 35 (!!!) is ludicrous.
On the other hand, WC suing Berlex over patent infringement wouuld seem to be very pertinent info in any discussion of 24 day combination OCs. Wouldn't it?
And if WC wins the lawsuit and you're still the # 1 OC, WC will be rich, stock proices high and we won't care which 24-day they write, you moron.

I am having an event on mothers day weekend, and I am having one doctor and my family, this is still o.k.-just make up the doctors names-no one checks anyway.
God I love this company-I must save at least another $500 a month on dinners out. Med ed events are my life.

I agree, the PNC is great. I'm having a small family reunion on Mother's Day catered by Warner Chilcott. My caterer just sends me an invoice as food delivered to a doctors office, no problem. I give her so much business, she bills me any way I want it. Thanks WC!!!!!!

You know that there are reps who do lunches on paper and the money never leaves their pocket with wc pushing you so hard to do so much what else can you do , but lie. Besides WC lies to their reps and the management is not honest to the reps-back stabbers. I recall one day when my manager wanted me to go buy a bunch of new office stuff for a office-I should have bought a gift card for about $250 from a nice office supply store and bought myself stuff-a new desk maybe.
I am sorry I was honest, it did not pay off. There are so may reps who fuck the system and I bet they make an extra $5K a year and that is tax free. with perks that are for them but expensed for offices and doctors. This company brings on all the spending and abuse of funds. Now with the itemized receipts things must have improved, but the spending is not all is seems and all this lunches and dinners are bull shit and a waste.
This mothers day I will have it on WC, thanks. I am sick of being so honest and it does not pay fully. At least I am not my DM taking his wife out on the company on a regular basis, which doctor is it this week you claim to be having dinner with? When you see your DM abuse the system what else do you think will happen?????????

You guys really see DM's abusing the system? Sick.
I do, however, agree that they put WAY to much pressure on us for these dinners. I do not make up dinners by taking my family out but there are times that I do take out any office that will go.

To all of the above posters..........How do you honestly justify what you're doing? Having WC pay for Mother's Day events? You have to be such a low class, pathetic individual. How do you respect yourself when you look in the mirror. The fact that you don't have the decency to pay for your own Mom's present or meal says it all!

My momma raised a smart child!!!! You're just too stupid to take advantage of a great opportunity! Besides I was promised stock options as part of my compensation package when I was hired and they have been taken away, so I say: Get it any way you can!!!!!!

05-14-2006, 10:27 AM
With that logic, any chance to STEAL anything is an 'opportunity'!
"Wow, that old lady just left the ATM, she's all alone and defenseless......What an opportunity!!!!"
Theft is theft, dimwit. Momma should've taught some morals along the way.
As for the stock options, you act like the delay (if you can call it one) is done just to rip you off. Get over yourself. Everyone would like to see stock opts ASAP (including RB and CR) but we've got to raise the expectations on Wall St. first.
You just want options or do you want VALUABLE options? Get some perspective you greedy, thieving juvenile.
Also, how many other reps get options? And if they do, how much are they worth?
Out.

Hey I paid for the flowers that I sent her. I am sick of taking out these offices who could care less about us and wasting my family time. Besdies mom gets stuck baby sitting all the time for the evening dinners for this company and she should be on the payroll. I am taking her as my guest in the future, or as a nurse-that is it. We loved our dinner out this weekend on WC, the wine was great also. I just got home from work and need to work on my expense report listing those doctors, now who were they again this past week?
