UCB wanting to buy Myobloc? I hope it is. I'm leaving primary care soon for Allergan selling Botox.

Just curious as to why you hope this is true if you are leaving UCB? Botox dominates that market and has nowhere to go but down in mkt share as more competition comes in.
And, no it is not true, Myobloc is Solstice's only product and if they are buying the product, they are buying the whole company. Not going to happen.

I'm not the person leaving for Allergan, but I am always happy to hear when I primary care rep leaves for something bigger. We can't apply for Cimzia and only a few get on to CNS. It makes me happy to hear PC reps getting better gigs and it's just a matter of time before I join them.

Allergan is a better gig? I know several people there...it is not biotech and it is barely specialty sales.

Folks...two things....1) UCB is not trying to buy anything in Neuro...the future of the company is actually inflammation (and not just Cimzia...there pipeline is rich in other products for this area). Not to say that CNS isn't important....the Keppra product w/ 2 additional Epilepsy drugs will be a strong driver for the company...but it will do what Zyrtec has done....pay for the real company's growth in the mid to late term future....then...CNS will eventually go away (7-10 years from now). UCB also has strong pipeline products for Oncology....they will likely start a new Oncology division in 5-7 years as well.

Folks, take some time and review their perspectus...it is all a matter of public record where they are heading and where their research lies.

2)...Allergan is definitely NOT anywhere near a biotech company. There stock has done great for me though so I don't want to bash them too hard.....bottom line....3rd best ophthalmology company (behind Alcon and J&J's Vistacon)....will always have decent ocular antibiotics, steroids, and glaucoma meds...but will never be a top tier organization. As for their Botox...that was purely an accident....and then they blew the best chance they had of making it a multi-BILLION dollar drug.
