Best Paying in Neurology

No one that I know of....Ive talked to several recruiters and when I tell them my salary, I always get the same response...I dont know of any company paying base salaries in the 100's

 

Work for UCB. 7 years experience (6 years specialty, 5 years hospital). Base $75, Bonus potential $27, earned $101 last year.

No matter what they pay, don't take the job unless you're willing to stay with them for the rest of your career. No one hires Teva reps due to their unethical behavior driven from the leadership all the way down.

This is obviously a post by one of those "BUY"ogen reps that Teva wouldn't hire. Biogen is known as the most unethical company in Neurology and they spin things like the Clinton's. You know whatever they are guilty of accuse others of that behavior. Most of my Neuros have banned Buyogen from the offices due to them acting like high pressure car salesmen.

Now back to the "pay" thread here that the Buyogen folks are attemting to turn into another negative thread like you find on their boards:

I'm 15 years in: Total Comp- Base + Bonus = $143,000


Now Buyogen Rep try to stay focused on the thread topic shall we?

What about your crummy 401K? I make more with a smaller start-up, with better benefits. Teva has shitty products, shitty Aventis management.

 

pay is crap if you work in south east asia. even if you ar a neuro specialist

 

pfe. - neuro tsr - about 80k starting out w/ bonus around 18-20 plus options if finish high. good training ground for management too.

i know some 10 year IHR/TSR's making well over 118 in base

 

5 yrs in industry - 2 yrs pc, 3yrs specialty; 70K base, 80K bonus +stock options

Yes. 3-4 Regional Directors on a panel firing questions at you about the business plan you put together for the interview. It's the toughest interview in the industry, but then again, it weeds out the weeds.

 

This must be why the teva reps are so sour on biogen. They didn't get through the interview process, went to teva and are making shit for money.

 

You'd think that with the crap that they're asked to tell neuros, that they'd be better compensated. It can't be easy coming up with fiction after fiction about a drug that shouldn't even be on the market. Imagine a drug that got approval simply because it doesn't have the same side effects as the drugs currently available that actually work. Not that it has NO side effects, but that it has different side effects.

BI, 4 yrs exp total, 2 1/2 specialty, 70 base, 30 comp.

 

Well, we are still here and no plans to downsize...as matter of fact, just formed a new division and talks right now of expanding Key Account Manager position (probably by only 10-15). Reps make very good money, all have base salaries about 100....those of us that have been here from the beginning are nearing 120,000 in base...that's why its such a challenge to leave. Its not an easy job...so, if you can take the heat and the money is worth it to you, check the website for openings.

 

Forgot to add...our 401-K sucks and we dont have a stock purchase plan anymore since Merck Serono, Inc isnt on the US stock exchange. This just happened in January, so hopefully they will come up with something to replace it.

 

How is Lilly? Looking at a primary care position on neuro side. I know it will be less than specialty, but am hopeful to move into that after a couple of years.

 

Lilly? Shitaquel going generic and Cymbarfa is all that is left

Absolutely. No one lands on their feet coming from Teva.
