Anybody ever heard of, worked with, or known somebody that has worked with Brican America in a sales capacity?

Yes, I know someone who has sales experience with this company. Little known in dental. They sell a waiting room marketing and patient education package to dentists. Extremely tough sale, as dentists are cutting back in all aspects of spending, and Brican is a little known company outside of opticians offices. They are selling a non essential item, which in this economy is difficult.

100% commission with no draw...a ton of turnover on the sales team...I know a couple people at the company that scratch and claw to make 4-8 grand a month...phone/car/internet are not reimbursed...not sure about market viability of product.

I personally worked for this company as a sales rep. Your quota is to sell 5 units per month - won't happen, especially in this economy. No base salary, all commission, no expenses. The turnover is unbelievable. There were almost fifteen people in my training class and within two months, all were gone. They have training classes every month to keep up. The product is way over priced. $500 per month for 60 months. Granted they can get "custom shows", nobody cares when PerioPro will give them a disk for free to go in a DVD player, Nobel Biocare gives away a similar product that includes a flat screen tv . . . all for free. In addition, it is impossible for doctors to get financing. Most of mine were turned down for credit reasons. These are doctors that I worked with at another company and had good credit.

They rely heavily on referrals from other doctors, which they will pay $400. Doctors who were unhappy with their system would still refer other docs just to get the referral money. I felt like I was running a racket than selling a product.

Unless you're starving, I would pass. You'll waste a lot of time that could be spent looking for something better.

I agree with everything this poster says. It's a nearly impossible sell. The 100% commission is tough to swallow when the company offers zero marketing support or lead generation. You're expected to just come in with a pocket full of relationships and then cold call.

I agree as well. Brican is also facing a 38 million dollar lawsuit from one of their former leasing partners. Just read over the contracts and agreements and ask yourself if you or would you allow a friend to sign up for this deal? NOT!!!

Go ask a few dentists about Brican and you will get some nasty comments. Brican is not highly regarded in the dental industry.

I have a friend that is getting ready to start with the company.

They told him it was base, plus commission, and $1000 a month expense account.

    Is this all lies?

This company is being sued by one of the leasing companies that they used to finance their products. This lawsuit is based on claims that Brican was selling their products based on fraudulent claims concerning future co marketing agreements that did not exist. Subsequently they started using another leasing company, which also dropped them. Now they have no financing or leasing source. Which makes their already difficult product even more difficult to sell. The word is that this company is a scam. They induce leasing companies to fund a five year lease, give the doctor back 2 years of lease payments and pocket the rest without providing any discernable product or service. They do not pay any salary, it is commission only.

Working for Brican would be a very bad decision, the company is borderline criminal. I never worked for them, so I am not a disgruntled former employee. I am very well ingrained in the dental industry and know what the story is with this company and product. Just to add some third party verification, follow the below links:

    Thank you for the information.

Funny they promised my friend base plus commission or the option to be commission only with a higher % based on the sale.

    What a disappointment.

I have worked for Brican for the past 2 years and have a 10+ years dental sales background. While there is a higher turnover at Brican than some other jobs I have found it to be a great job. I earn much more here than I have in any of my past dental positions and have time to enjoy my life as well. Something I could not do at my previous jobs. It is not an "easy" job. You really have to prospect well and have great closing skills. I like it because the feedback I get from my customers is positive with many of them telling me how much more they bill a month because of using our system. I think it is all is how you manage your territory, train your doctors in using the system, and following up with them to make sure they are using it to their full advantage. If you develop a good working relationship with your Doctors it helps to move you forward. I know the owners and the management group and all about the old relationships with past leasing companies and the litigation surrounding it. This is corporate America and companies are litigating all the time. Brican is moving forward, rolling out new programs and continues to grow. Brican has lived up to all their commitments they've made to me and my customers to date and do not operate like a scam in any way I have seen. I have a few periodontists who bring me on to their study clubs to talk to their referral sources because they love the system.

No it is an either or situation, however if you are a ood sales person it would be stupid not to go with the comission package. You make a lot more money and 5 is a very reachable quota.

I have just completed the Brican sales training in Miami and have had the opportunity to check these guys out. Everything negative in this forum is 100% accurate. No, I am not working for this company after my due-diligence and am very relieved as I am not an unethical person and cannot sell a $32,000 TV on a five year lease agreement. The lease agreement is a "Hell or high water" lease which means whoever signs this is locked in tight with no way out. These guys are not selling anything but a Lease!!!!! Definitely a good way to make enemies in the industry. They in fact are just kicking back two years of their lease commissions to the dentists to close the deal.

This positive post was most definitely written by someone working for Brican, probably "Steven Parkins" VP of Sales.

I can provide direct testimony to working for this company. I will sum up my feelings by echoing what I heard from clients who purchased our system, "I rue the day I ever got in bed with Brican America". Everything negative people had posted is absolutely true. In my time I had spent at Brican, I had encountered almost a change to financing, pay, quota, cooperative agreement, Viso Deals, network purchase alliance, for every month I was there! You could possibly sell systems if you were willing to check your conscience and character at the door. It seemed as if we were coached and trained on confusing and rushing the doctors through the deal so as to rush it through and lock them into their lease agreement. I couldn't justify any more the work I was doing and I have to now rehabilitate my reputation that has been damaged by working for these snake oil salesmen. Others have posted links to the "Leasing News" website which has documented the lawsuit Brican is involved in. Particularly intresting is the deposition by "Jeff Vincens"- Brican's President, in which he admits that Doctors are purchasing $2400 worth of equipment for $25,000. He also indicates that the systems were at one time sold for $13,000 but increased to $25,000 so he could "make more money". So a word to any prospective candidate looking to join this organization, or any doctor looking to purchase this system........DON'T!
