looks like they are going to need a 5mm device or they will not last on the market. 12mm just wont cut it these days. Pun intended!

Word has it that without a 5mm, they wont last 6 more months. I would stay away unless you enjoy going through the interview process OVER and OVER again as you will have to start looking for a job. It cannot help to have them on your resume

Saw the proto 5mm in hospital yesterday. It is the real thing. Liga V+ will have a hard time stacking up against this one. Gyrus forget it, they hardly keep up with the Kleppy. As an ind rep I have carved out my slot with these guys and expect great things to follow. What a concept, a device that is easy to use, fast, effective and I can make a boat load on. The 5mm will be out end of march.

I am interested myself as well. A few questions if you do not mind.
Is Aragon selling through Independent reps only?
If they have manf reps, do you know their commission rate?
Is the articulating tip important to your surgeons?
    Best of Luck!

direct , and Independent . MR Snow is a real treat . Very impressed with himself and how he took RITA to the next level , then landed at Fox Hollow . If it was not for him neither company would be where they are now ...NOT
Watch out for this Guy .
Great product once they get a footprint it will be brought mainstream

How many employees do they have? How are they expanding in regards to a sales force right now?

    Thank you for the info.
Just a thought..if that is what he is saying and they beleive it... maybe the company wants to build it up and sell? may not a bad position as a rep if you are in early and can collect some stock??

Do they have training in place or just taking other energy/ seal reps and putting in place? Or both?

Watching the videos on their website doesn't create much of a "wow" factor neither do the two clinicals that they have describing the use of the products. The laparoscopic device almost seems too big in length and clumsy. The time from activation (or what I guessed was activation because there isn't any sound) to actual transection of the tissue was painfully slow.

How good of a device is it when the company won't even show it being used during an entire case on their website? The video aren't long enough to give a good idea if this thing even works...

I just watched the videos too. That thing is a joke. It's an electronic stapler, that's all it is. No grasping, dissecting, retracting, or spot coag capability. Furthermore, do you think hospitals want another energy system in the O.R.? I assume it's advanced bipolar that uses a different waveform or higher voltage.."me too" written all over-doesn't come close to the current products in the market.

Finally, who are they going to hire? No Liggy, Gyrus, or JJ rep is going to jump ship for this. Long up-hill battle for this company.

Met with them today. Very cool products and based on what they said they are growing very fast in sales. No other device like it. Whats with the (Mr) Snow naming... is he your Dad or something!?!? Management seems very start-up experienced which as I heard today is important. Going after the job...will post how things go.

Are you interviewing as a direct or 1099?

do you have to have laparoscopic experience for this job or just device experience?

Saw the device in action for a colectomy. Very slow and a lot of sticking of tissue. Doctor wasn't impressed with device and rep's best rebuttal to objections was, "Our next generation generator will be much faster..."

Even the surgeon remarked that it would be easier for him to just use an stapler with a vascular reload instead of this instrument to mobilize the colon.

Rep was selling benefits of articulation in an open case and surgeon's response was, "Why do I need articulation for an open case? I can position the colon with my hand."

I spoke to a big Surgeon in my area and he has reviewed all the info and he said he would not use it. He says that Aragon is thinking they are goinig to get bought and make a boat load but he said the other market leaders will NOT touch them, the wont be in business much longer bc surgeons are not buying into their Features and benefits
