Recruiters don't get it done...your networking will. Also, think about what has happened int he industry. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the majority, and yes I am saying the majority, of laid off reps will never be back in the industry. 15 years ago there were 40,000 reps...just three years ago there were 110,000. The industry is headed back down to 60-70,000 reps and sorry to say but that is where it should be. CEO's runied the industry with PODS and hyper expansion. This cutting back is needed to make those that are great survive. You may disagree but the industry would have never surivived the way it was going. At least now we have a small chance of survival.

For the record, Medreps is an job posting site where hundreds of different recruiters can post job openings. Often times, there will be severa different recruiters posting for the same jobs because companies contract out with many different recruiters. Many of the job postings on sites like medreps. are not for legitimate jobs, but for recruiters to collect resumes. If someone is interested in getting into the pharma industry, there are a few different recruiter firms that are known to those in the industry that work specifically in the pharma/device/medical business. For those interested in the direct link to those recruiters it is best to locate them individually and send a resume to them vs. posting blindly on job sites like medreps. If someone has been in this business any length of time they are aware of this. BTW, most of the Forest hospital positions were filled internally from promotions, and the recruiter that contacted me to interview for the position told me that Forest had around 100 open positions they were looking to fill from outside candidates for the remaining slots. I went through a recruiter who got people through the whole interview process. I think those were the ones you were looking for. The recruiters info. has been confirmed by others I know who were involved in the interview process. Your 250 rep. openings is incorrect.

 

Many of these job posint sites like Medreps. actually go to the company website to look for open positions and then post the same position on the Medreps. site. If the company allows recruiter involvement for the position, that is often how recruiters collect resumes. Even for future opps., but many people are not savvy as to how these jobsites operate. Its best to find the reputable recruiter organizations in a given industry and try to work directly with them. Sorry for your bad experience, but the more people know about how recruiters and job sites work the better equiped they are to land a position vs. getting the runaround.

I have been contacted several times about opening in new division. The one question that has never been answered is training details. What is the training details? Does Forest still have a one month away from home training requirement ???

I have sold both Zyvox and Cubicin, as well as some PO antibiotics and Amphoteracin B as well.
I interviewed well, very well, and my resume is solid.
Manager said I was his number one choice (of course), but due to the results of the assesment - upper management would not allow me to move forward??? What??? WTF???
That told me everything I needed to know, and have heard about over the years - about this stupid outfit...

Yes, of course. The training program offered by forest no matter what division is miserable. pure and utter misery. no weekend time, no travel, locked into a small hotel room with a grown adult stranger. Welcome to pre school, you will be watched like a hawk, do not stray of the reservation, do not talk to peers about anything but the rah rah work place and do not ever show less than the koolaid expectations and keep those smiles on with a wink. this is a sweat shop and you will be dying to take the next plane home and quit one day into the nightmare. you were warned, it is all true.

actually, I already started.

 

i just went through the hospital sales training and i didn't think it was that bad at all. yes, the roommate situation for training is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous but besides that it was no worse than any other company standard training. the weekend between wasn't so bad although man is forest cheap... we only got 100 dollars to cover 2 dinners, 2 lunches and any transportation to the city or any laundry you need to get done. but overall i think the hospital sales position at forest is excellent and the future is promising. people always think the grass is greener on the other side and often times it is not...

 

I agree and getting really good feedback from customers. This drug will do well.
